Yes. Good spot. In fact there's more than one SI NPC that doesn't have this set. Shelden seems to be an odd case. There are cases where he suffers a scripted death but he never seems to lose that essential flag. –Rpeh^{•T•C•E•} 12:03, 3 February 2008 (EST)

Trapped in Xeddefen?

I had shelden follow me before I fought the knights and disabled the obelisk (wanted to see him fight with an order sword) but he was trapped by a gate. I had to leave him behind! 203.91.84.7 23:19, 4 June 2008 (EDT)

He shoudl appear outside the building when you exit it, and if he doesn't he will also appear back in the non-ordered Passwall at the end of the SI Main Quest. So he's probably around there somewhere. You could always use the console to find him or to move him to you. 86.44.221.166 16:23, 3 June 2009 (EDT)

Escorting out of Xeddefen

If you escort him out of Xeddefen, he will still repeat like a parrot, "Can we get out of here?", even though he's already back in Passwall. He won't even follow you to Passwall, as soon as he is out of Xeddefen, he will go there alone, but he will still say the same to the player. That's because the game doesn't check Shelden's whereabouts, it checks if you've overloaded the obelisk, and as long as you haven't he will always repeat the same nonsense. Picking up a Sword

Well, on my game, Sheldon did pick up a sword of order, and used it to fight. (I see no reason why he wouldn't, as it is lying on the ground free to take) --Arch-Mage Matt^Talk: 16:59, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

I was on the quest and remembered this. I tried Tarnished, Sterile, and Simple order swords. I also ended up dying 3 times >.> and tested it again, but nothing.--^Corevette₇₈₉ 17:07, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Disappeared.

Shelden has completely disappeared on my profile. I told him not to follow me and I guessed since he is now marked as not essential, he must of died in xeddefen. I am a very high level so he must of struggled against the order knights. My save file is too far back and my autosave is in Passwall after the attack. I hated him any way. LOL! But does anybody know if he gives you any goodies (items or money)? Because I might load my old save otherwise. Thanks.
