I brought you here after our first mission together. Do you remember? We were going to intercept a caravan filled with fake art. Some merchant had hidden the designs for Dominion siege weapons behind the canvases.

You were so nervous. Desperate to prove yourself. Pushed yourself so hard you nearly blew up the entire shipment. But I was proud of you. I brought you here, afterward. Your eyes shone so bright in the light of the campfire.

That night, you told me about your tattoos. What your family had done to you. How you wanted to prove them wrong. You had a dream you could change the world. I called you childish and regretted it immediately.

You shrank. I watched you disappear and all at once I understood. I saw what they'd done to you, my firecracker, my little spitfire, and I was angry.

That's when I knew there was no turning back. I knew I would hurt you. Scare you, even. But the only way you'll get the world you deserve is if the old one changes.
