Approaching him, you may overhear him muttering, "Of all the things to steal!" If you speak with him, he'll bitterly greet you with:

"This is the last straw, the final insult of many!"

What's wrong?

"Thieves. Damn them all to Oblivion! My family banner's been stolen. It's been an heirloom of my house for hundreds of years."

Who stole it?

"We had visitors yesterday. Some of them looked pretty shifty. Jurana thought they might be bandits. After they left, I noticed that my banner was missing.
There's a bandit camp in the old towers west of here. Would you go look for my banner?"

I'll check out the camp.

After accepting the quest, his greeting will change.

"Where's my banner? You promised to get it for me!"

Upon completion of the quest in his favor, you'll have to report your success to him:

I have your banner here.

"At last. It took you long enough, but at least you brought it back unharmed. I won't display this anymore, since it has proven so irresistible to thieves."

After the quest, if you retrieved his banner for him:

"Our business is done. Are you expecting something else?"

If the banner is burnt he'll be bitter.

"I have no desire to speak with you ever again. Be gone."
