Speaking with her, Rayna will be very busy:

"I don't mean to be short, it's just that I am very busy today. So if you don't need to talk to me, please just go away."

What are you working on?

"Calculations. Mostly.
There are some Dremnaken eyes that have gone missing. It's easier to convince Arns Farandas that something's missing if I show him where the numbers don't line up."

Do you always track down missing shipments?

"It happens more often than you think.
I should just be handling the Saraathu Tong's finances. But, when you work for a group that transports items between the planes, those finances are tied to the goods. Missing goods mean missing funds."

So, what do you do when they go missing?

"Exactly what I'm doing now. Then I take the proof to the Tong leaders and let them deal with it. It's usually not a big deal. Most of the time goods go missing because Zirpar does the transmission spell drunk.
Not much for an adventurer to do."

If you haven't done a quest for the Saraathu Tong yet:

"An adventurer? Talking to me?
Please tell me you're here about a job and not because Vaveli didn't have the funds to pay you."

If you done a quest for Saraathu Tong before:

"You're that recent hireling. Good to see you! Adventurers don't usually come back after taking on a job for the Saarthu Tong."

I was hired to kill the Unmaker and bring back the caravan's merchandise for you.

"I have been waiting for so long to hear an adventurer say that! It's awful that those Daedra couldn't deliver the goods themselves, but I am looking forward to the number of favors I'll be able to secure with this haul."

You're going to purchase favors with the treasure?

"Oh yes, what else would we do with it? Fargrave has a complicated financial system. Favors are often worth more than currency. And they last longer than the passing currency fads do.
You want to go far here? Learn how to trade in favors."

How will these goods be worth favors?

"Since it was a Daedric caravan, I'm thinking that they weren't carrying mortal goods. Maybe they have skeins of Void Cloth. Ooh! It could be Xivilian steel!
Raw materials are worth more in Fargrave, since most of our imports are finished products."

Speaking with Rayna after completing the objective but before handing in the quest:

"You're back and you don't look worse for wear. Did the Unmaker have anything good in its hoard? Was it Xivilian steel?"

The Unmaker is dead and I have the merchandise, but I haven't opened it yet.

"Good thinking. Sera Indavel will prefer it if you haven't tampered with the merchandise.
I'm still hoping there's something nice in those crates. Like an unlabeled elixir. Or a forgotten bestiary."
