Sister of Pools protects the waters of Vunalk
An Argonian named Hokatsei claims the Nereid of the ruins of Vunalk, Sister of Pools, turned her brother, Deet-Loh, into a pig. She needs help to return to the ruins and break the spell over her brother.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Enter Vunalk with Hokatsei
  2. Find the three pools in the ruins and bathe Deet-Loh in them.
  3. Find the Frog Pool.
  4. Bathe Deet-Loh to make him begin singing.
  5. Leave the ruins and talk to Hokatsei.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Deet-Loh must perform some frog singing

On the bridge leading to Vunalk, you'll find an annoyed Argonian named Hokatsei. Her brother has been turned into a pig. She asks you to help her reverse the curse upon him. Enter the ruins.

Down on the lower level, a Nereid taunts the brother-turned-pig and warns that whatever happens next is on his head. The first of three pools, the Humble Pool, is found to the east. Washing the pig in the pool does not satisfy the Nereid. Continue eastward, then north to the second pool, the Remorseful Pool. This won't appease the Nereid, either, so head west to the Penitent Pool.

When this third pool fails to work, Hokatsei hears the Nereid mention the reason she initiated the curse in the first place. Talking to Hakotsei, she'll point you to another pool: the Frog Pool. It's farther west, back toward the entrance of the ruins. Once there, bathe him again and he'll begin to sing (frog singing, that is). This will bring the Nereid's frogs back to the pool, which will cause the Nereid to release him from the curse. Exit the ruins and speak to Hokatsei to complete the quest.

Quest Stages[edit]

In Need of a Bath
Finishes Quest Journal Entry
I agreed to escort Hokatsei through the ruins of Vunalk to bathe her brother Deet-Loh in the Nereid's waters. I should enter the ruins.
Objective: Enter the Ruins of Vunalk
Hokatsei suggests we need to bathe her brother in at least three different pools within the ruins to appease Sister of Pools. I should find some suitable locations.
Objective: Bathe Deet-Loh: 0/3
We bathed Deet-Loh in three different pools, but nothing seemed to appease the Nereid. I should talk to Hokatsei and see if she has any other bright ideas.
Objective: Talk to Hokatsei
Hokatsei thinks that if Deet-Loh sings with the Nereid's frog, that will show the water spirit that they're happy and make her forgive her brother. I just need to escort Deet-Loh deeper into the ruins.
Objective: Escort Deet-Loh to the Frog Pool
Hokatsei thinks if I bathe Deet-Loh one more time in this pool, it will start him singing. If that makes the frogs happy, then maybe Sister of Pools will finally forgive him.
Objective: Bathe Deet-Loh
I should listen to Deet-Loh sing.
Objective: Listen to Deet-Loh
Now that Deet-Loh has been restored to his natural form, I should meet him and his sister outside the ruins.
Objective: Leave the Ruins of Vunalk
Finishes quest☑ I helped Hokatsei restore her brother Deet-Loh and lift the Nereid's curse. Now I should talk to her about the reward she promised me.
Objective: Talk to Hokatsei

  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
