1. Speak to Nelerien in Vlastarus.
2. Find the bear north-northwest of the town and deal with it.
3. Return to Nelerien.

Detailed Walkthrough

Nelerien has a simple problem that requires a simple solution: he needs you to kill a bear. A particular creature nicknamed "Gaping Maw" has been harassing travelers through the area and can be found nearby.

Head northwest of town to a small clearing where you can spot the bear. It does not appear out of the ordinary, but nonetheless it is stronger than a normal bear. Once you have dispatched it, return to Nelerien in Vlastarus for your reward.
