Stuck[edit]

I'm stuck in wendir, in the area with the 3 ceiling spike traps and I can't get out back to the Great Forest. >=[ I kinda hopped over the low wall you see right before the first locked gate and landed down in the main floor area. Now I'm stuck. ImmortalKaine 23:48, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Nevermind, went through Wendir Nagasel and found a way out. :P ImmortalKaine 23:50, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Similar Maps[edit]

Has someone noticed that the maps of Wendir Nagasel and Wendelbek Sel Aran Mathmedli have some striking similarities? Wendir's and Wendelbek's Ayleid statues are located at exact the same position in a room that is obviously copied. --77.165.238.253 16:37, 13 January 2010 (UTC) [1] [2] — Unsigned comment by 77.165.238.253 (talk) on 13 January 2010

Many Ayleid ruins have similarities in their structure, which makes sense for two reasons: a) it saved Beth a lot of work and b) a single culture is responsible for all the ruins, so it can be expected that they present similarities. In any case, there is no way of deciding which is the original and which the copy; and in any case, it's not really noteworthy. --SerCenKing Talk 16:42, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Push-block gates don't seem to work for me...why...?[edit]

I've wandered into the Wendir complex and can get everywhere except those areas where you have to push a block to open a gate. I checked the page about Wendir here at UESPWiki but it doesn't say anything about it... just says to push the blocks and enter the room beyond. I havn't started the quest to collect the Ayleid statues, so I thought maybe that might be the cause but the page about the quest makes no mention of anything to do with the push-block gates. Does anyone know anything about this and/or how to get the push-blocks and gates to work? ```` — Unsigned comment by 144.139.63.117 (talk) at 08:53 on 19 June 2010

Update... starting to suspect this is a software problem as it's been happening at other Ayleid ruins as well. It's also spread to pressure-plate gates too. Have also had the game crashing when I close it. ("Oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to close...", etc... kind of ironic when you've just exited from the game.) Think I might try uninstalling/reinstalling the game. Means I'll have to start from the beginning again but... *shrugs* ````— Unsigned comment by 144.138.242.29 (talk) at 02:17 on 20 June 2010
Regarding this push button problem, I also had it while I had a plugin installed called Abandoned Mountain Shack, I don't know if it was using that at the same time as some other plugin but removing it solved the problem for me. ```` — Unsigned comment by 196.215.68.183 (talk) at 17:59 on 13 September 2010

Push Block Problem[edit]

There was a version (1.21) of the Abandoned Mountain Shack mod (@ TES Nexus) that contained a bug that disabled push blocks in dungeons and Ayleid ruins. This version was only available for about two weeks in late August 2010. Earlier and later versions do not have this bug. If you have this version, please download the small patch that fixes the bug. You can find the mod, including the patch, at: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22846.

Ayleid statue disappearance[edit]

The Ayleid statue seemed to have gotten lost in the melee: it was visible during the fight, but vanished when the nearest undead died. I've checked the area surrounding and beneath without any luck. Console commands don't seem to trigger the associated quest. Any suggestions? Calcinator 22:32, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

My top tips: 1) Check again, everywhere; and I mean everywhere. 2) If it's not there, the unlikely circumstance is it's fallen in a gap in the texturing of the wall/floor 3) Try player.additem 0002AB48 or 000844C4. That adds a statue to your inventory. --SerCenKing Talk 18:42, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

You might get trapped in this dungeon[edit]

I entered this place low on lockpicks and ran out of them before the last gate. I had to cheat to get out, using console to give myself a few. Unless you have extraordinary acrobatics to climb jumping over the crumbling wall near the entrance, the hard locked gate is the only way out. I made an edit about this in the Notes section. Caralampio (talk) 03:12, 9 December 2014 (GMT)

I removed it. There is another door which bypasses the last gate. It is mentioned in the relevant section of the page that you don't HAVE to go through the gate you can essentially go around. You'll miss out on some loot, but you aren't really stuck. Jeancey (talk) 03:26, 9 December 2014 (GMT)

Note for later[edit]

Can "This ruin can be entered, fully explored and all items retrieved without starting the related quest" like other ruins in The Collector quest? This note it largely just to remind myself to check this tomorrow. ParadoxPraxis (talk) 09:23, 20 May 2020 (GMT)

Thanks to RobinHood's reminder I verified + updated the notes. ParadoxPraxis (talk) 04:57, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Changes during development?[edit]

The article itself states that in the E3 videos, the interior of Wendir was completely different to how it is in the final game. Is there any evidence to back this up? — Unsigned comment by Vatae (talkcontribs) at 09:37 on 19 August 2020
