Unique Color[edit]

I think it may be worth noting that Tooth-in-the-Sea is the only non red-green Argonian. A kind of purplish-grey. I can see how that would not really be worth mentioning but I think it is interesting...

I have, for about 2 hours, tried to copy the color of his skin (scales?) and it is hard. My Argonian was more blue than Tooth-in-the-Sea's purplish-grey but it was still close looking. --W27Y 09:44, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

Problem[edit]

Every time I fast-travel to a place near his campsite, the screen turns black, and after a few seconds, another loading screen appears, and the game freezes. Why this happens and how I'm going to finish this quest? — Unsigned comment by Neekerisanni123 (talkcontribs) on 13 September 2008

I have no idea why it's happening. As far as how you're "going to finish this quest", you could always walk... --GuildKnightTalk2me 23:31, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

Game guide strategy...[edit]

I've recently read the official Oblivion guide book, which in its guide for this Master Training quest suggests ways of obtaining water breathing. Funnily enough, it completely ignores Fin Gleam and the Jewel of the Rumare, which given how easily obtainable they are seems odd. I added these items to the quest's description as I think they're very helpful.

The guide does however suggest that you use Slaughterfish scales or Rumare Slaughterfish scales to make water breathing potions. Ironic, given the latter is collected in order to obtain the Jewel of the Rumare, which gives permanent water breathing...

correction[edit]

Second to last sentence in Master Training says you can not use water walking, however, you can use water walking but you have to jump and move forward while looking down in order to dive. I am always wearing silica boots, and it doesn't stop me at all.

Also, it would help to clarify the last sentence of Master Training, which could be describing anything, IMO. So does it mean argonians don't have to take the alteration trainer's test, or does it mean they don't have to use anything to breathe under water because they can do it naturally? — Unsigned comment by 67.183.28.2 (talk) on 31 May 2009

Another Strategy[edit]

Couldn't you hit the wait button for 3 hours? Would that work? You don't drown while waiting underwater. --Darkheart 00:32, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

You can't wait underwater! –rpehTCE 06:40, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
I can. Here. --Darkheart 20:47, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
If it doesn't work for everyone (and it doesn't) then it shouldn't go on the article. –rpehTCE 07:44, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Argonians are exempt[edit]

What does it mean that argonians are exempt? Does that mean that they don't have to go underwater and can automtically get the training? It really should mention this on the article Jplatinum16 16:07, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

It was referring to the fact that Argonians have Water Breathing a racial ability, and thus need not to take measures. The note was not clear, so I tweaked the section. --Timenn-<talk> 13:36, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Quest?[edit]

Should the information about the training quest be on the general NPC page, when the quest has its own page which explains everything in detail? Seems redundant/pointless to have one or the other. Walbert 18:42, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

I can see what you're getting at, but there's actually not that much about the quest mentioned on this page. Just the dialogue. The dialogue is part of the UESPWiki:Oblivion NPC Redesign Project, and is not present on the quest page. The pages are therefore not really redundant, and I think it's fine now. Argonians--training at any level[edit]

I was playing my Argonian file (the only one I've ever made) and on my way to Bravil. I thought I'd make a visit to Tooth-in-the-Sea just for fun. When I arrived I was surprised to see the "Training" option available. My Argonian's Alteration skill was around 30, and I was level 1. Can anyone confirm that this always works, or was it a weird fluke? Tea ache sea 05:32, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Probably just a One-off. I'll check it tomorrow with the results.--Iamgoofball 05:33, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Tooth In The Sea Oblivion Gate Thing[edit]

My friend was playing oblivion on the PS3, and ran into "Tooth in the Sea" when exploring. Two days later, he accidentally hit a guard with a fireball while training his destruction and started running away, then while he was running, still training his destruction, he accidentally hit Tooth in the Sea with a fireball. Tooth attacked him, so he killed Tooth. Ten more days later or so, in an oblivion gate he was on his way to the sigil stone room, and killed everyone in the room. Suddenly, Tooth in the Sea appeared out of nowhere behind him and started attacking him with a dagger! When he killed Tooth in the Sea, he flew off the stair case. — Unsigned comment by 174.28.218.98 (talk) at 03:37 on 1 February 2012‎
