Confusion over the Cuiras of the Savior's Hide

Why is the lore here about the Savior's Hide almost completely backwards? The Savior's Hide in Morrowind (where this book appears) was an awesome light armor that also made you insanely resistant to magic effects. In Oblivion, the magic resistance was lowered but the armor rating didn't really change. Why is this claiming that the Savior's Hide makes you vulnerable to magic?
