The Tree of Summerset is a sacred tree to the Dunmer people. When Veloth the Pilgrim led the Chimer to Resdayn, he planted the seeds of his homeland of Summerset Isles. Of the trees to sprout from this, only the Tree of Summerset survived, and thus a temple was built around the tree to memorialize it known as Selfora Temple.[1]
