Imperial City, Waterfront Tunnel

The Abandoned Residence is an abandoned house in the Imperial City Waterfront Tunnel. It's located midway along the south end of the tunnel, on the upper east level.

The residence is quite large for the tunnel and likely belonged to someone of means, but is now home to several squatters. The front door opens into a large room occupied by Dougie; his bedroll is placed on the floor near the door, along with a sack for his possesions, a bottle of rough brandy, and a small crate with a candle on it. A nearby table with three stools serves as a communal dining area. The rest of the room is in shambles - an overturned bookcase in the far corner has shed a few loose books, and two more chairs have been tossed aside near another door leading further into the house.

This door leads to a small foyer, empty for the remains of a broken barrel. Another door from hear leads to the main living area, an L-shaped room where Alice and Tom Duggery share space. Alice's bedroll is in the short arm of the L, opposite another bookcase with a lone copy of Fundaments of Alchemy and a scroll of Calming Touch. Along the long arm, another bedroll (this one unused) is placed against the wall, and an actual bed (claimed by Tom) sits at the end. A pair of barrels containing food and a crate of clutter sit against the walls here.

A door at the bend of the L opens onto a stairway to the basement, which the squatters all avoid. The room is a mess - broken crates and barrels and scattered debris litter the place - and in one spot, there's a large pool of blood and bones, along with some rat meat - the remains of one or more large rats. Another extremely large specimen (this one intact) lies rotting on the far side of the pillar. The room has little of interest besides a handful of lockpicks on a shelf and a small jewelry chest on the floor in one corner.
