Retrieving the boots

Just to clarify what I wrote: It is rather glitchy, but during my own playthrough and in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wAXz7a4sXI (at 4:00) they were retrievable from the southern side. The chests containing the armor pieces on this level lock after having retrieved the respective piece, so in case the chest still opens, keep trying, even if it's empty. Another critical bug?

I encountered a very weird bug on this level, which basically killed my save. When I played the level normally for the first time, after leaving the tower one of the dark seducer sent me flying with a spell, which ended up making me stuck in the terrain, approximately at the water level (though the game didn't consider me underwater). After that, I reloaded my latest save, which was inside the tower. That's when the weird bug happened : no matter what I do, when I load the save inside the tower, the tower is now flooded by water, and as soon as I close the menu, my character instantly died. I tried reloading and saving other saves before loading my latest save, I tried closing and re-opening the save, but no matter what I try, the save seems doomed, as the tower is always flooded and I always die right away.

Not wanting to redo the level from scratch, I reloaded a save I made at the very beginning of the level, to try and enter the tower to load and save inside it, hoping that it would somehow help me debugging my save. I saved before jumping to the isle with the tower (since the seducers love to kick me away with their spells), jumped, and then got tossed into the water by the seducers' spells. I loaded my previous save to try again, but for some reason this one too became bugged, when loading it the cavern is entirely flooded like the tower before, and instant death is still a thing.
