Deletion[edit]

I oppose deletion although the map itself was made by Lady Nerevar, she specified that she made it from information she got from Kirkbride. The reason I uploaded this file, to use as a reference in the nature of Adjacent Places, is still applicable from this context. LadyN and MK have both confirmed that Bethesda occasionally tasks lore things to LadyN, so either way I think this file has the grounds to remain. Mindtrait0r (talk) 13:02, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

I deleted but then restored the file after seeing this. The prod should stay until consensus is reached here. I won't add back its use in references, though, since it's a controversial source. My personal opinion is that it could potentially be UOL. It's definitely on the edge, but if it's highly useful as a second source, perhaps... My opinion can go either way. —Dillonn241 (talk) 00:12, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
Lady Nerevar is not an active or former developer of Bgs or any of the companies that have been allowed to make spin-offs. A map drawn by her, even with context given to her by Mk is fan art and shouldn’t be used in lore space in any way. I don’t think the file necessarily has to be deleted from the website because it could go in a user page or perhaps a general article, but it isn’t fit for lore. Dcking took the words right out of my mouth. Unless Bethesda asked Lady N to make the map for one of their projects, it shouldn't be included in lorespace. -MolagBallet (talk) 01:08, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

() I am the author of this file and I don't think that it belongs on UESP as a lore reference, largely because taking it was never intended to be an authoritative source. It was a sketch we did at lunch for what we thought would be a cool scale for Tamriel, and then posted it online with corresponding questions about what this sort of scale would mean for the story of the games and personal observations about why we thought the scale was cool. (Also, the projection I used for Earth sucks.) Lady Nerevar (talk) 03:27, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

With Lady Nerevar's input, the use of this image as a lore reference is all but settled. The question remains then if we keep it in General as Dcking20 suggested, along the lines of Uutak Mythos and such being there. Lady N, what do you think? I can also go ahead and delete it. —Dillonn241 (talk) 03:39, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
I don't mind it being uploaded, it's already everywhere else on the internet anyway. The name and description should be changed to accurately reflect it's creator and origin [[1]]. Copyright also needs to be properly set for this image... let's say thar this is me giving permission for it to be uploaded to the wiki. I just don't want to further perpetuate it being some version of ""canon"" Lady Nerevar (talk) 05:37, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
All right, we'll keep the map since it may prove useful someday for a General article. I'll rename it now, update the license, and remove the prod. —Dillonn241 (talk) 05:55, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
