When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Saving My Work[edit]
Thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately, I don't see a way to save changes in preview mode without bothering the patrollers. I just want to save my work periodically so I don't lose it, especially with indexed lists.

- Preview mode would allow you to preview how it looks without saving. Saving work periodically as you have been should be fine as long as they aren't super minor edits back to back to back. Large chunks are understandable to save so that you don't lose your work due to browser crashing or something. :) Jeancey (talk) 22:36, 11 February 2020 (GMT)
Received This Warning[edit]
"A user making a large edit to user space as one of their first edits is a possible indicator of spamming. Doing this solely for the purpose of advertising your web site can be considered to be vandalism. If you continue to use the wiki for advertising purposes, this IP address will be blocked from editing. If this is a legitimate edit, then you need to either break it up into smaller edits, or make at least ten constructive edits around the website (on an account at least four days old) to become an autoconfirmed user."
UESP's content and editing tools just make me happy to be here, reading and indexing lore. I didn't think anyone would be interested in a nautical tavern compilation (and read a warning elsewhere about not creating spurious pages), so I've been tinkering in my own space.
I'm not a loremaster, so I can't really contribute beyond fixing typos, syntax errors, indexing new content when game DLCs release, etc. But I would like to find a way to get that autoconfirmed status so I can continue to toil away in my personal space and occasionally contribute.
I'm currently at 3 pages edited: my user page, the list of ESO inns, and a syntax correction on the Patreon userbox page.

Possible Workaround[edit]
Is making a new heading the only way to reply on my talk page?
Anyway, assuming the issue is only my number of saves (and not where / what I'm saving)... I think a possible workaround is to save a paste in Notepad++ when I preview. Then I won't be overloading the save / spam algorithm or patrollers, and I won't lose hours of work to a browser tab close.

Adding this here as a change log. If there's a better way to track important events, please let me know. -- ThoraldGM (talk) 20:56, 12 February 2020 (GMT)
