The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
Hi[edit]
Hello, Ausir, and welcome to UESPWiki! I hope you enjoy using the site and find the information on it useful. If you decide you want to help improve any of our pages, we're always welcoming to new editors so feel free. If you need any help or advice, please ask one of our mentors. Good luck with your Fallout Wiki! Happy editing! --GuildKnightTalk2me 23:43, 30 October 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks for copypasting the welcome message. :) I hope that me coming here talking mostly about my Fallout wiki won't be seen as spamming. Ausir 23:49, 30 October 2008 (EDT)

- Not spamming at all! (and I intended to do the message properly the first time, but my stupid finger hit the enter button :| ) Either way, my intent was sincere. Considering the recent couple of comments regarding an interest in a Fallout wiki, your arrival is right on cue! --GuildKnightTalk2me 23:57, 30 October 2008 (EDT)

- I know that some users here are disappointed that my wiki uses a different format for articles, are used to UESP's and would prefer a Fallout 3 wiki with structure more similar to the one used here, but I think that it will be better if instead of splitting the community, we cooperate, despite the different format taking some time to get used to. Not saying that ours is better or worse, just that it's not very reasonable to expect a wiki that's been around for some years to change it because of some of its new users being used to a different one. - Makes sense to me... has someone suggested you change the layout of your wiki? I mean, I prefer the "gamespace" layout, but I'm sure it would be more trouble than it's worth to even consider changing now. It's not that hard to get used to a non-gamespace layout... it took me a couple of weeks to figure it out when I started on Grand Theft Wiki, but it makes sense in it's own different way. UESP has always encouraged community efforts, and I doubt anyone here would recommend splitting any community. --GuildKnightTalk2me 00:11, 31 October 2008 (EDT)

- Yes, a user that came to The Vault from UESP did suggest changing the layout to a gamespace one, and then suggested creating an UESP-like Fallout 3 wiki here. The gamespace layout has its advantages, and I could use it if I started a new wiki from scratch, but it's more trouble than it's worth to change it at a pre-existing 3700-article wiki.
- By the way, if anyone here dislikes Wikia for having a competing Oblivion wiki, I can assure you Wikia's Fallout and Oblivion wiki are not affiliated aside from being hosted by the same company (myself, I don't see much of a point in having one at Wikia when there's already a major TES wiki around). :) Ausir 00:17, 31 October 2008 (EDT)

(outdent)Believe me, people here that don't like Wikia have plenty of reasons without the Oblivion wiki! ;) --GuildKnightTalk2me 00:29, 31 October 2008 (EDT)
- Oh well, I hope these reasons won't prevent them (or at least not all of them) from editing The Vault. :) Before my wiki ended up at Wikia (we were originally hosted somewhere else, but the host was not good enough for the traffic), I actually asked Daveh back then if it would be possible for UESP to host it, but he recommended me Wikia instead. :) Ausir 00:35, 31 October 2008 (EDT)
