A Eulogy for the Clockwork City[edit]

And so Seht did set his staff upon the Stone of the everlasting, begotten by the Deep ones, but did not profit for many cycles of the two Shards. But at last it did reveal a fragment of Kangrenac, a Tone of greatness that eluded the more pompous mer who would see themselves as peers to that which had long ago transcended all that they had held as infallible. But at last Seht understood the need that was of incarnation and absolution and from his clockwork mind brought forth the City of Brass, though it was but the merest modicum of that which was envisioned by the First Architect. Still, its creator thought it could give pause to the inevitable which was heralded upon the sacred Horizon and foretold by the whispers and visions of the old faith… Such was not to be, but for a single moment it would shine with the luminosity of those who had granted it preeminence.
