The Dragon Loves You
by Acolyte Ahaxtu of the Cult of Akatosh, Yneslea diocese
A plea by Acolyte Ahaxtu to the Echmer infidels circa 4E2 shortly before his death by stoning

Written by Captain Carrot

My brothers and sisters, I stand here as one of you. Like you, I too believed myself to be the scion of the ultimate masters of knowledge and heir to the ineffable knowledge and infallible judgement of the Dwemer, of our ancestors, and of our Goddess. That is the great lie of In’eslae, my friends: the Dwemer were not infallible, and their anti-theistic ways were not only wrong but dangerously so! We too fall into that same trap, believing ourselves beyond the guidance of any but our own despite living in the holy land of a far more powerful presence.

Aye, a holy land! For where else do dragons of all ilk grace the skies and mountain tops in this age? In the east they were eaten by jealous serpents, and even the westerners would come to learn such blasphemous ways and put the noble Children of Time to the sword. It is only here in blessed In’eslae that the progeny of Akatosh, for that is his true name, are still seen! Khimera, Dragon, or Jill, they are all true sons of Akatosh, not some cursed Akkrahz born from a rotting corpse. Just look to the west where Daedra pour out of tears in the Mundex to lay siege to the cities of the Empire. Did such an invasion happen here? No! The Exorcists would have you believe that it was their work that protected these lands but the truth is far more euphoric! The West destroyed their own dragons and paid the price for it, sacrificing the last Dragonborn Emperor who still carried The Fighting Diamond’s blood to build a new Dragon in Effigy: A new ward and covenant to keep Le’pergon from stealing them away from N’urnani’s story. But here? The children of Aka are still alive and well, hidden sometimes but always watchful over us! No new covenant was needed for our covenant was never broken!

The Dragon loves you, as he loves all his birthed and adopted children whether they accept him or not. The dragon Akkrahz that you have been told is the First Dragon is a falsehood, merely another child of Akatosh, just the same as Duiiad’al or Teshi’raki-ral. The Dragon of Time is not an enemy, not some madman bent on the corruption of the world; He is a cornerstone of firmament, and it is here that he makes his presence known!
