Steal a pair of enchanted boots while their owner is on a hunting trip. Hhontjulf Fire-Mane's house in Old Ebonheart

1. Speak to Cap'n Fentus in The Empress Katariah about jobs and Hhontjulf Fire-Mane.
2. Speak to Rifskald Whalebane at his house in Old Ebonheart, and either:
   • Persuade him to give you the key to Hhontjulf Fire-Mane's house, with 70+ disposition.
   • Pickpocket the key from him.
3. Enter Hhontjulf's home, and feed the dog rat meat to calm it.
4. Retrieve the boots from Hhontjulf's bed.
5. Lie, and say you came to feed the dog (requires 30 Speechcraft).
6. Return to Cap'n Fentus.

Notes

• The key to Hhontjulf's bedroom is downstairs, on the liquor cabinet.
• It is possible to feed the dog poisoned rat meat to hush it more permanently, although this upsets everybody involved.

20		Rifskald Whalebane gave me the key to Hhontjulf Fire-Mane's house. Rifskald said he had promised to feed Hhontjulf's homebound guard dog Halli, but he's too afraid of the dog to do it. Apparently, Halli loves rat meat more than anything. If I don't feel like fighting the dog, I could get some rat meat to distract it with. I should go to Hhontjulf's house when I'm ready and find the Snow Hare Boots.
25		I have poisoned Halli the Wolfdog.
30		Halli the Wolfdog is dead.
50		As luck would have it, Hhontjulf Fire-Mane unexpectedly returned home from his hunting trip. He wasn't happy to find his dog dead.
55		As luck would have it, Hhontjulf Fire-Mane unexpectedly returned home from his hunting trip. He wasn't happy to find me there.
60		Hhontjulf Fire-Mane let me go after I told him I was in his house only to feed his dog. He thanked me and told me he'd trust Halli to my care the next time he was out of town.
100	Finishes quest	Cap'n Fentus thanked me for the Snow Hare Boots. He gave me two Potions of Sweet Little Lies as a reward.
110	Finishes quest	Even though he was sad to hear that the dog had died, Cap'n Fentus thanked me for the Snow Hare Boots. He gave me a Potion of Sweet Little Lies as a reward.
120	Finishes quest	Cap'n Fentus was unhappy that I had killed Hhontjulf Fire-Mane. He gave me no rewards.
130	Finishes quest	Cap'n Fentus was unhappy that I had killed Rifskald Whalebane. He gave me no rewards.
