Detailed Walkthrough

Setting the Trap

Joslin Stoinles is now convinced that the Telvanni spy in the Mages Guild is Llene Niteria. She was supposed to be the guild's spy in House Telvanni, but it seems she is a double agent. Stoinles has hatched a plan to confirm her theory and trap Niteria. She wants you to tell Niteria that the guild is going to mount an expedition to Kharalambos, a daedric ruin near Llothanis, and that she should find out what the Telvanni know. Meanwhile, you are to head to the ruin and see if the Telvanni appear.

Making the Journey

It's a long journey from Bal Oyra to Gah Sadrith. The quickest way is to take a boat to Tel Ouada, then a River Strider to Port Telvannis, then another River Strider to Gah Sadrith. Once you arrive, head to the Wetstone Tavern, which is on the northeastern side of town. Tell Llene Niteria about the expedition. If you ask her about the ruin, she will tell you that it's near Llothanis and that you should ask there for further directions.

An Isolated Ruin

Take the River Strider back to Port Telvannis then another one to Llothanis and ask one of the locals about Kharalambos and you will be given detailed directions: "Kharalambos is a daedric ruin in the mountainous region to the southwest. If you want to get there, however, you need to approach from the south, as the terrain from other directions is difficult. It's easiest to go for a more direct route, however. Head to the west of town, to the Andoril manor. From there, head further west 'til you reach a river. Follow that river southwest, until it reaches a sharp curve where it begins to head back north. At that curve, climb up the riverbank and head south."

When you reach the ruins you should get an update about seeing two Dunmer in Telvanni guard uniforms. You don't have to kill the guards, just see them. It's time to head back to Joslin Stoinles. The fastest way back to Bal Oyra is probably to run to Ranyon-ruhn then catch a Silt Strider.

The Sting

Joslin wants you to take the direct approach and kill Llene Niteria, so it's back to Gah Sadrith once more. If you talk to her, Llene will attack you so there's no need to worry about gaining a bounty. Kill her and head back to Joslin once more.

Your reward is Joslin's Ring, an excellent way to demoralize enemies. If you are of lower rank than Warlock, you also get 200 gold. In either case, you receive five Mages Guild reputation points.

500		I have told Llene Niteria the false information about a Guild of Mages expedition to Kharalambos. I should proceed to the ruin and see if any Telvanni come to attack the false expedition.
