Index Finishes Quest Journal Entry
10 Lorus Avius asked me to speak to Melia Floria in the East Empire Company Warehouse. Apparently there are some discrepancies in the inventory figures, and some bottles of Telvanni Bug Musk seem to be missing.
20 Melia told me that several bottles of Telvanni Bug Musk have disappeared from the warehouse. The only people who have accessed the warehouse recently are her, the clerk named Tarus Meritorus and two sailors. Melia asked me to investigate Tarus and then the sailors, but not to kill anyone involved.
25 Tarus Meritorus blamed the Redguard and the Dunmer sailor from the Reckless Maiden for the disappearance of the bug musk.
30 Captain Sjorvan the Wastrel of the Reckless Maiden denied that his sailors are the thieves I am looking for.
35 Kiliban Samarys, the Dunmer sailor on the Reckless Maiden, denied stealing from the warehouse.
40 Cajan, the Redguard sailor on the Reckless Maiden, denied stealing from the warehouse.
45 All the crewmembers on the Reckless Maiden denied the allegations of theft. Maybe if I threatened one of the two sailors I could 'persuade' them to talk.
50 I have killed Kiliban Samarys. Lorus will not be pleased.
55 I have killed Cajan. Lorus will not be pleased.
56 I found four bottles of Telvanni Bug Musk on Cajan's corpse.
60 Once I had loosened his tongue by force, Kiliban Samarys admitted that he and Cajan had stolen the Telvanni Bug Musk. He further claimed that Tarus Meritorus, the clerk at the warehouse, paid them to do it, although he has no proof to offer. Ostensibly, Cajan now has the bug musk.
65 A fight convinced Cajan to respond to my accusations. He admitted that he and Kiliban had stolen the Telvanni Bug Musk, but he claims that they did not act on their own authority. Instead, the clerk Tarus Meritorus supposedly paid them for the theft. He has no proof for this allegation, however.
66 Cajan returned me the four bottles of Telvanni Bug Musk.
70 Tarus Meritorus denied that he had paid the sailors to steal from the Company.
75 Finishes quest☑ I returned the Bug Musk to Melia and let her know that it had been stolen by the sailors of the Reckless Maiden.
80 Finishes quest☑ Lorus was unhappy that I had killed one of the sailors and refused to pay me.
85 Finishes quest☑ Lorus was furious that I had killed both of the sailors and refused to pay me.
90 Finishes quest☑ Lorus was pleased that I had found the missing Bug Musk and paid me 100 drakes.
95 Finishes quest☑ I returned the bug musk to Melia and informed her that the sailors had stolen it on Tarus' orders. Melia told me she already had suspicions about Tarus and would keep an eye on him.
100 Finishes quest☑ I told Lorus that the sailors blamed Tarus for being behind their theft, but I couldn't present evidence. A further investigation, which will be my next assignment, might bring light into the darkness.
