Delete page[edit]

Sorry, I was the one who made the original page but I spelled Water Walking as Water walking (no capital w in walking). I'd say just delete the page as soon as possible. Sorry again.RIM 17:14, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Neph moved the page and I moved this post to the talk of the new page. The redirects will be deleted when another admin sees it. Nothing too complicated. :) --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 20:10, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
Does anyone know where you can find the spell tome for this? — Unsigned comment by 78.105.241.24 (talk) at 09:44 on 14 November 2011
As the page says, there isn't one. The only creature that I know of that uses it in Skyrim is the Flame Atronach. 174.6.51.17 22:56, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

VN[edit]

I removed the following VN from the page, because it seems there is no known ingredient, spelltome or item with that effect in the game data. Adding a VN without a specific argument why the statement is suspicious is not that helpful. As far as I know, only a few creatures have that ability - console help only finds a magic effect (MGEF) with ID 8cac9 called "Waterwalking". --Alfwyn 16:47, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

'''Not available as a spell, potion or enchantment in Skyrim.''' {{VN|Anyone Mastered Alteration tree/Alchemy/Enchanting to confirm or deny this?}}

Potion YES with Dragonborn. As enchantment it is possible to get, but only through the console with playerenchantobject <obj ID> <ench ID> <enchID>. There is a second one with Dragonborn addon installed. ID: xx039c1 and here are also Ahzidal's Boots of Waterwalking. --178.190.147.91 16:41, 9 March 2013 (GMT)

Can be obtained[edit]

As a vampire lord you can hover (or walk if you choose) on water.--71.17.19.249 00:50, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

A list of where to obtain?[edit]

Would someone kindly create a list of where these potions can be found and/or bought please?--67.185.108.121 01:43, 17 December 2012 (GMT)

Dragonborn DLC[edit]

There is a pair of boots with both waterwalking and fortify enchanting as well as potions of waterwalking in solstheim. I am still unable to find a learnable waterwalking enchantment. — Unsigned comment by 204.77.57.220 (talk) at 17:33 on 12 February 2013 (GMT)

"Boots of Waterwalking" bug[edit]

If you have equipped the "Boots of Waterwalking" and hit Water with them you won't recive falldamage. Testet it with a hight equal the "Throat of the world" falling onto river neat it. — Unsigned comment by 178.190.147.91 (talk) at 15:44 on 9 March 2013 (GMT)

I am quite sure this is a not a bug. This effect is seen, as far as I can remember, in all the Elder Scrolls games with the waterwalking effect implemented. In the real world a fall equivalent of several hundred meters of more down on water would be potentially deadly even without any kind of floating ("waterwalking") devices. You can as well break your spine from hitting water surface feet first if they only hit a tiny bit wrong. This potential danger is not implemented here either, and it is still definitely no bug. —MortenOSlash (talk) 07:55, 5 May 2013 (GMT)

Movement bug related to all forms of waterwalking[edit]

i am pretty sure this applies for all forms. (TESTED ON PC with dragonborn installed) i used the waterwalking boots and the vanilla spell & homemade enchantment

1. the movement speed when walking on water depends on the angle that the camera is facing in the up/down & front/back axes (z & x????). e.g. facing completely down and trying to move does not let your character move at all.

2. if the direction of motion is at an angle above the water your character seems to slightly jump on the water then fall. e.g. facing above the water and moving forward or facing towards the water and moving backwards

i hope i described these good enough for the average person to understand. someone can clean it up and possibly put it on the page for a note or bug. 50.83.242.0 08:23, 11 October 2014 (GMT)

sorry... forgot to add this before. i gave the enchantment to a follower and the seemed to have no idea what was going on. they stopped partly to the water and wouldnt move. 50.83.242.0 08:26, 11 October 2014 (GMT)
1 makes sense. Movement in Skyrim is based on what direction you're looking, and applies your speed towards that direction. If you're looking partly down, that means all of your speed on the y axis would be lost. Looking completely down without being able to MOVE down would be just like walking on ground. 2 is a result of it being water, I think. Despite waterwalking, the game still thinks you're swimming, which means going up lets you go up, so then you fall because you've basically jumped out of the water. Sorry for the necropost, figured if nobody else was going to answer I might as well lol, even if it IS 3 years late.99.125.251.122 08:40, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
