Can't be killed ?[edit]

Notes section mentions she can't be killed, does that mean she's flagged essential or just lies on the ground until she regenerates enough health just like Lydia ? --Heartseeker 19:37, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

I would say she's no different but I haven't had her yet, prob just prelim info should be removed --LosTheFail 19:51, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
She can be killed, just as Lydia. Both are very similar and are nearly impossible to kill when properly equipped. They can handle a dragon without taking a scratch, this is perhaps why the writer of the article thought she could not be killed. — Unsigned comment by 90.19.224.59 (talk) at 08:17 on 12 December 2011

Dropping equipment[edit]

I dumped a bunch of equipment on the floor to stockpile for enchanting later, and maybe 10 seconds later Jordis comes down and asks me if dropping the equipment was an accident, and if she could have it. I said no and she walked away, but now when I drop equipment I want her to have she doesn't say anything. Is there any way to unflag what I said? — Unsigned comment by 99.16.135.64 (talk) at 23:38 on 6 December 2011

It is not specific to Jordis. It appears to be completely random but it doesn't happen often. Any NPC seeing you drop equipment can react in different ways. better not drop valuable things in front of people because sometimes they don't ask but they just pîck it and walk. — Unsigned comment by 90.19.224.59 (talk) at 07:48 on 12 December 2011
I've had her since level 40 and she is outfitted with Deadric Armor all Ebony and enchanted. I try to keep my attacks on others while she goes to town on enemies. Now I'm level 50 and she is still alive and well! — Unsigned comment by 173.69.33.39 (talk) at 10:02 on 5 March 2012
I can confirm she can be killed (Xbox360), She died twice on me yesterday even with my best Daedric armor on, of course it was my fault. — Unsigned comment by 187.186.155.78 (talk) at 10:06 on 23 September 2012

Jordis room?[edit]

Anyone know where Jordis room in manor? All housecarl`s have there rooms, but where Jordis can sleep? — Unsigned comment by 91.77.224.53 (talk) at 00:17 on 14 December 2011

Most likely in that one room in the basement. Same floor as the enchanting and alchemy tables. — Unsigned comment by 71.255.67.170 (talk) at 08:57 on 14 December 2011
However, the sleeping bag does not show as "owned", so this may not be correct. — Unsigned comment by 98.127.206.166 (talk) at 10:11 on 26 December 2011
Her room is definitely the one is the basement with the sleeping bag. I married her and had to keep changing houses between hers and Proudspire (even thought they are the same place) to get her to stop sleeping in the basement. It finally worked and I started to get the Lover's comfort bonus. The downside is now I can't get her to cook me a meal.4meridia7 23:16, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

disappearance[edit]

i completed the quest and became thane, but she is nowhere to be found. i have no followers anymore, they have both died. Where did jordis go? — Unsigned comment by 76.85.173.123 (talk) at 05:46 on 14 December 2011

Can't spam arrows with Jordis[edit]

I've noticed that when I give Jordis 1 daedric arrow, she doesn't actually have a unlimited amount like Lydia or any other NPC I use for arrow dupes. Is this normal or is it just me? — Unsigned comment by 71.255.67.170 (talk) at 09:01 on 14 December 2011

It doesn't happen to me with Jordis, but no it's a bug!! Having to refill your companion every time he's out of arrows would be such a pain in the ass!! In fact only enchant weapons has to be recharge! I'm pretty sure Bethesda did this because infinite enchant would be unbalance with the game. So if it was infinite there would be no reason to put a lot of charge on the weapon maximizing for the strongest damage output! — Unsigned comment by 65.92.82.98 (talk) at 23:53 on 16 December 2011
I don't suffer from your problem; my Jordis shoots infinite Daedric arrows from the one I gave her. — Unsigned comment by 204.176.49.45 (talk) at 21:36 on 29 February 2012
If a follower uses up arrows, it means that the follower's not using the hidden hunting bow. Make sure your follower has no bows in inventory to get the infinite arrow effect. --Morrolan (talk) 15:44, 22 September 2013 (GMT)

Dialogue relating to marriage minor bug[edit]

There is a minor bug involving Jordis (or any other female matrimony prospective) that even when wearing the Amulet of Mara she does not give the astonished "I thought you were already spoken for" line and even after marriage she will continue to address you as thane however her goodbye dialogue appears to be working correctly. 27.32.30.223 18:19, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

I think it has to do with the "Band of Matrimony". I notice that she's all "My Love" this and "My Love" that until I switch rings for, say, a ring of smithing...Then she goes into what I call House Carl Mode. Put the ring back on and take her out for an adventure killing stuff and the next morning she'll be all butterflies and rainbows again. — Unsigned comment by 62.189.226.194 (talk) at 16:55 on 14 February 2012
on PS3, after marrying Jordis and still using her as a follower, she seems to switch randomly from "Thane" dialogue to "matrimony" dialogue. It makes no difference if the player equips the "bond of matrimony" ring or not. However, if the player addresses her through the line of dialogue "I want you to do something for me" (to switch equipment for instance), she will invariably enter the "matrimony" type of dialogue and never use the "Thane" lines. It seems to work in every type of environment: owned house, inns or in the wilderness. (please, feel free to correct my English as it is not my native language). {(Clearskies, 3 march 2012)} — Unsigned comment by Clearskies (talkcontribs) at 17:24 on 5 March 2012

Voice Actors?[edit]

Could anyone who knows which voice actors correspond with which NPCs add a section to the NPC pages? This might help select a follower (or avoid a voice you're sick of ;) as well as provide info for those curious about it. This game has a few top-notch actors and actresses... — Unsigned comment by 98.223.149.239 (talk) at 02:39 on 21 February 2012

Here is a list of the voice actors in Skyrim. [1]There really are a lot of great ones in this game. I miss Sean Bean and Patrick Stewart though. 4meridia7 22:17, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
| Corrie English is the voice actor for Jordis, if anyone got led to this entry wanting to know that. 67.0.120.84

Gifting[edit]

Upon entering my property for the first time, Jordis said something about good being with friends, and gifted me an item, much like Lydia is said to do sometimes when you "rehire" her after a while. Are they, or housecarls, the only followers that give you stuff after not seeing you for a while? I never got anything from Berlyna or Mijoll....96.250.18.45 04:45, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Sometimes NPCs who have a high enough disposition will give you gifts. It can happen with housecarls, spouses, people you've done favors for, etc. It doesn't seem to happen very often, but it's not limited to housecarls only. ABCface 13:44, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

follower after marriage[edit]

can jordis the sword-maiden still be your follower after marriage? — Unsigned comment by 24.1.14.123 (talk) at 18:30 on 2 January 2013

Yes, shes my wife and follows me everywhere. Gave her the 100 health vamp ring too and shes kinda immortal now. — Unsigned comment by 177.23.178.158 (talk) at 10:29 on 5 April 2013 (GMT)

Leveling up and how many?[edit]

Ok 2 questions, how do you know when jordis levels up? How many housecarls can you have following you at once? — Unsigned comment by 72.152.183.198 (talk) at 02:25 on 13 May 2013 (GMT)

She levels up along with you until she reaches her maximum level. And in normal gameplay, you can have one active permanent follower at a time, whether they are housecarls or not. — ABCface 15:58, 10 June 2013 (GMT)

Loves mining clay[edit]

So i made jordis my steward of windstead (morthal byoh) when she is not your follower. she seems to have a overwhelming desire to mine the clay deposit there. any idea how to fix that? anyone else seen this? 71.99.172.232 10:12, 5 October 2014 (GMT)

What is the problem? Do you end up with too much clay to manage? —MortenOSlash (talk) 04:57, 6 October 2014 (GMT)
My wife mines clay, too. I figure she's got a secret pottery studio somewhere. She must sell it all in her store, though, since I never see it.

Jordis went adventuring on her own with Aela?[edit]

Jordis is my Housecarl and I left her in my house in Solitude. I went to Riften to hunt fish, saw a battle going on nearby and when I investigated it was Jordis and Aela fighting a pair of Atronachs. o_O Does she normally do that? I have like a bajillion mods installed, so that may be a factor. --Irrevenant (talk) 06:54, 17 May 2020 (GMT)
