Where to Find Them[edit]
If I'm not mistaken, Mages (at least Necromancers) have a (very small) chance of dropping them. Any PC user willing to find out? Icko 02:11, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- I just found one on the body of a dead Thalmor guard in the outer area between the party and Elenwens Solar during the main quest. I had cast Soul Trap on him but didn't have a soul gem to accept it if that makes any difference, either way it was really out of place... — Unsigned comment by 88.111.120.120 (talk) at 12:55 on 18 January 2012

- Those occurences are probably very rare. There are several NPCs having the leveled list LootWarlockRandom in their inventory. This should have a chance of 1/80 to give an item from the LItemIngredientsRare list, which contains 15 entries, the Human Heart being one. So the net probability is 1/1200 or 0.083%, far below what's already listed. --Alfwyn 20:05, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

- I seem to have misread those leveled list (missed a flag). It should be a 0.666...% chance for a LootWarlockRandom list to produce a Human Heart. And that is what the article claims for Warlocks. It may need a bit of tweaking, NPCs with names like "Master Necromancer" were apparently subsumed as Warlock. --Alfwyn 22:10, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

Dawnguard Brings Potentially Infinite Supply[edit]
Within Harkon's chamber in Castle Volkihar is a locked display case containing four Human Hearts. These cases, along with the rest of the items in Castle Volkihar respawn every 10 days, making this previously finite resource now just really rare. Garland the Elder 16:03, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
The Black Sacrament[edit]
I believe I could be wrong about this, but I distinctly remember returning to the Arentino Residence in Windhelm to find that the ingredients used in the Black Sacrament regenerate after a certain point in time. Unfortunately, since I lost a few saves awhile back, I am currently unable to verify this. If there is a human heart there, I could have sworn that it reappears after a set amount of time; if it does, then it should be noted that it could be a source for potentially infinite human hearts. --98.149.253.196 05:58, 10 April 2013 (GMT)
A small chance Narfi will give you one[edit]
When you complete "The Straw That Broke" miscellaneous quest by giving Reyda's necklace to Narfi, he will give you three rare alchemy ingredients. On my last playthrough, he gave me a Human Heart, a Daedra Heart, and a Briar Heart. — Unsigned comment by 99.92.54.83 (talk) at 22:44 on 20 April 2022 (UTC)
