Goldenhills Not Here[edit]

Goldenhills is not there, do I have the older version of skyrim? I can fish and build and plant. I have found Hjaalstad house... I'd rather have this nice looking farm! — Unsigned comment by Caranea (talkcontribs) at 14:43 on 2 December 2021 (UTC)

If you have a different building in the place of Goldenhills, you likely have a mod that uses the same location and place its own building there. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 14:43, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Narfi & Dark Brotherhood Quest[edit]

Steward Leaves Goldenhills[edit]

I haven't checked without mods or on other systems, but it seems like with Faendal as steward instead of remaining at the property he just returns to his home in Riverwood. He still functions as a steward, but is never around. Seems like this bug exists for others, too -- there's a Reddit thread about it [1]. Can't start quest, even with console commands[edit]

I can't seem to start the first quest even with console commands, no matter how far back in my saves I go. Is there any way I can force ownership of the plantation through a console command so that I can advance the second quest properly? I can force start the second quest, but it gets stuck at the point of hiring a steward since I don't technically own the plantation. — Unsigned comment by 24.241.192.215 (talk) at 06:35 on 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Guard Dogs[edit]

  • Most dogs (including stray dogs, Meeko, and purchased dogs) can be set to guard the farm by bringing them inside the home. Speaking to the dog will trigger the guarding dialogue.

This note was originally added for Vigilance but has been expanded to include all dogs. I just tested this out in-game using Meeko and there was no additional guard dialogue to get him to stay at the farmhouse. Is there some mod which might be causing this behaviour? —⁠Legoless (talk) 12:45, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Bugs[edit]

"Kids and pets may not recognize the farm as a home"

This happened to me on a replay. I fixed it by renaming ccVSVSSE004-BeAFarmer.esl, loading, saving, exit to dektop, renaming ccVSVSSE004-BeAFarmer.esl back and reloading, and then redoing the whole lot. After that all was well. Speculation, before I had stripped out everything which wasn't nailed down.
