Notes[edit]

  • The bottled messages work like Treasure Maps, in that finding them enables a treasure that is previously unavailable.
  • The bottles can be easier to find at night due to having a faint purple glow. When picked up, you are told "Popping the cork from the bottle to fetch the scroll, the sweet smell of a purple mist tickles your nose."
  • Although the description mentions treasure chests, the treasures instead appear as mounds of "Disturbed Earth". Digging up the treasure requires having a Shovel in your inventory, either type of vanilla Skyrim shovel will work. If you do not have a shovel, you will be told that "You need a shovel for this."
  • Three of the bottles do not enable a buried treasure. Instead, finding them gives you the "Uncle's Gift" blessing which fortifies Speech by 10 points for one hour. Two of them also enable you to craft a new recipe at cooking stations.
