It was in the depths of an ancient Takubarian library that we finally found what we were looking for. Our alliance needs heavy hitters. Keystones and atronachs of might that haven't been seen in aeons. We have found them. Old knowledge of the frost atronachs speaks of a quartet of incredible power monarchs. The Frost Tetrarchs. Ancient, unmatched titans who wielded the powers of ice and snow as cold as Oblivion. It is said that their control over the cold was absolute, even going so far as to be able to freeze mortals and puppet their frozen bodies as their thralls. They terrorized the Merethic Era before a group of Snow Elves managed to bring them low. We don't know how, but they were able to enslave them, using them to build a mighty temple to their false gods.

But irony is as cruel as it is repetitive. In time, these same elves were slaughtered by invading Nords. But some strange mercy overtook the clan that discovered the Tetrarch's prison, and the sealed the entire complex away. So much of the legend ends there, but a single name remains: Direfrost. A now-extinct clan of Nordic witchhunters. Old maps point to an ancestral fortress deep within the Velothi mountains. We will leave immediately.
