Volstok Violet as a Zombie

Volstok Violet is first encountered as a shambling zombie in Twilight Temple. Through desiccated lips he implores you to find the area's shadowkey and bring it to him. If this is achieved, he turns back into a human and tells you that he is a Merchant Captain of Dragonstar and to visit him in Dragonstar East for a reward.

As good as his word, Volstok will present you with a bag of gold should you visit him in his quarters.

When first spoken to:

"Help… sha… key… save me."

What?

"Shadow… twis… unlock… key… in temple. Save me?"

A Shadowkey? Here?

The zombie nods with a sound like too–tight leather.

I'll bring you that key.

Once he is cured:

"I am Volstok Violet, merchant captain of Dragonstar.
You have undone Asuul's handiwork. I am grateful. If you come to Dragonstar, seek me out in the western half of the city.
I will then pay you handsomely in gold."

When met in Dragonstar:

"Friend! It's me, Volstok Violet! You rescued me in the Twilight Temple, remember?"

Of course!

"I promised you a reward… let me just go and get it."

(Volstok keeps talking as he rummages around the room.)

"Did you happen to see my memorial plaque?"

Yes, it was lovely./A bit inaccurate now, eh?

(Volstok chuckles merrily.)

"Yes, it is. Shame they should take it down, but I feel no need to hurry them. Great to know I was missed."

(Volstok hands you a pouch with 2,200 gold in it.)

"May it prove useful in your journeys."
