Ragnvald Barrow

Ragnvald Barrow is a large Nordic barrow found in the Druadach Highlands on the northeastern side of the Darvacriag Mesa. It is located in a small ravine apparently carved by two small waterfalls found just north of the barrow's entrance.

The interior of the barrow consists of a single, mostly linear zone that can be separated into three levels, with a large, central chamber that connects to each level. You'll enter the dungeon in an entrance chamber where a few burial urns can be found. A path forward through a short hallway leads to the top level of the central chamber. The only walkable path here is a bridge leading straight through it, though it is possible to reach the lower levels by either jumping or levitating down. Continuing along the bridge leads to another short hallway which leads to an open burial chamber guarded by a spider and a random barrow denizen. A passageway to the south of the room leads further down into the barrow.

Two chest and several more urns with standard barrows offerings can be found as your make your way through this passage, as can another spider and a spider matron. The passage eventual reconnects with the central chamber, this time on its middle level. Continuing along a ledge to the left leads to a narrow hallway lined with burial niches. A single draugr can be found here as well as more chest and urns filled with basic offerings. Continuing down the hallway leads to another cave passage which, after passing another barrow denizen and several burial urns, leads back to the bottom level of the central chamber.

At this point you can either turn left or follow the path forward along the right wall. If you turn left, you'll find a stone ramp that leads into a small pool at the bottom of the central chamber. Diving into this pool will lead you to a large, flooded chamber with five spellstone ore rocks at its bottom. Following the path forward instead leads to another, larger burial chamber. Numerous burial urns can be found around the room while more valuable offers, including a Nordic mail helmet, can be found against the south wall behind a draugr lord.

Notes

• It may be preferable to start by jumping into the central chamber's pool and immediately fighting the draugr lord. The barrow can then be cleared in reverse, removing the need to backtrack once finished.
• Ragnvald Barrow also appears in Skyrim.
