Retheron

Retheron is a Wood Elf who can sometimes be found in Vashabar having a conversation about recent events with Sarrinel and Nethangor.

Dialogue

Prior to the events of Seeds of Suspicion they will discuss the following:

Retheron: "But aren't you curious where it came from? Forests like this don't usually spring up so quickly."

Nethangor: "Why should we care what the Colovians think? Dawnwood is a miracle and it's ours!"

Sarrinel: "King Nantharion says the forest's a gift of the Green and I believe him!"

Retheron: "And what about the devastated region between Dawnwood and the rest of the Weald. They blame us for that, I hear."

If you speak to him at this point:

"Dawnwood is magnificent, but what do you make of the devastated region along the border? The greenspeakers have been studying it, but so far they have no answers."

After the events of Seeds of Suspicion they will discuss the scandal:

Sarrinel: "So it was the king all along! How did we miss that?"

Retheron: "You're just going to take what's-his-name's word for it? The Elf who colludes with Imperials?"

Sarrinel: "Well, Greenspeaker Darolith believes Beragon."

Nethangor: "I'm not sure what to believe. Is there any evidence?"

Sarrinel: "Go look at Hoperoot. There's your evidence!"

If you speak to him at this point:

"Don't believe these nasty rumors about King Nantharion. All we have to go on is the word of some city-dwelling Wood Elf and some mercenary from who knows where!"

After the events of King Nantharion's Gambit they will discuss his death:

Sarrinel: "They say Nantharion is dead. I … I don't know how I feel about that."

Retheron: "He led us here under false pretenses and killed a lot of people. I know exactly how I feel."

Sarrinel: "But we believed in him once. He inspired us!"

Retheron: "And a strangler's maw looks inviting, but I don't want to get eaten!"

Speaking with Retheron during this:

"With the king dead, Vashabar needs strong leadership to guide us through the coming storm. I can think of no one more suited than Greenspeaker Darolith."

After the events of In Memory Of, they will discuss negotiations between Vashabar and Skingrad:

Sarrinel: "Maybe a real peace with Skingrad is possible now. A friendship, even."

Nethangor: "Peace with the Weald is all well and good, but what about Vashabar? Are we sure there's not another Nantharion lurking in the leaves?"

Retheron: "There will always be spoiled fruit on the tree. That's the way of things."

Speaking with Retheron during this:

"So the Recollection has been defeated and Dawnwood is safe? All of West Weald, I suppose. And Greenspeaker Darolith and Count Calantius are talking. I guess that's good.
Still, maybe it's time for me to return to Valenwood."
