Azandar needs to collect some specific items from his past to guard against The Adversary. One of these is an Commentary on Fate Dialectics, which is a rebuttal written about Azandar's earlier thesis.

When you enter the office, Elydrina will notice Azandar:

Elydrina Nathriin: "Well, well, well. Looked what the senche dragged in."

Azandar: "Cohort, would you mind speaking with her? Erm. Please?"

Talk with Elydrina Nathriin to explain what is going on. In turn, she will tell you what Azandar did:

"Azandar al-Cybiades back at Shad Astula. ALMSIVI's arse, I never thought I'd see the day.
Pray tell me, attractive stranger, what in Aetherius could he possibly want?"

We'd like to borrow a copy of your commentary on his thesis.

"Oh really? If I recall clearly, and I do, he read the first two paragraphs when I presented it to him.br>Then insulted me using several words I'd never heard before, and threw the document in the fire."

So we're out of luck?

"You don't think I'd give my only copy of a written piece into his hands, do you? I have another.
However, my assistance comes with a price. I always liked Azandar, despite himself, but he insulted me that day. Truly."

What can he do in exchange for the paper?

"I want a sincere apology. As sincere as Azandar can make it, I suppose.
I can see over your shoulder he looks quite guilty, and he certainly seems more mature. But to dismiss and denigrate the efforts of his peers was wrong."

Before you talk to Azandar:

"I look forward to his no doubt heartfelt, impassioned words."

After you speak to Azandar, he will attempt to apologize to Elydrina:

Azandar: "Ahem, hello Elydrina. Some time ago, I behaved rather boorishly to you. So …."

Elydrina Nathriin: "That's your best effort? You never found a book on apologizing in the great libraries of Apocrypha?"

Azandar: "I'm sorry, I reacted badly to perceived criticism. I insulted you, ignoring the time and effort you put into reading and responding to my work. Tossing your work aside as I did was inexcusable. And I apologize."

Elydrina Nathriin: "Well mercy mother preserve me. Thank you, Azandar. Apology accepted. My copy's on the lower shelf on the far wall. Good luck, with whatever you're into."

Once you have picked up the Commentary on Fate Dialectal:

"You need something? Archmage's correspondence doesn't answer itself, you know."
