[The older entries concern the greatest part of life in this village and homage to Mephala, who produced a well in the center of the village. The last entry, however, is of interest:]

On my evening walk yesterday I walked towards the east, to collect some aloe vera. This Mephala-damned sand cough is going to kill me, I swear.

Within sight of the plants, I suddenly heard an outlandish sound. A... guar - rare here in Bam Ukaltan. I crept further and he actually grazed - not far from the old, weathered cemetery. And he was white! A white guar! This must be my lucky day. Toni in Kazbai would surely pay a fortune for a white guar.

I will hurry back to Sula to bring a rope. Watch out, you S'wits out there, I'll catch a white guar tonight!
