Hostile or not?

In my game, Mathyn Bemis and two others near him aren't hostile at first, but when I get attacked by Arven Nalyn (who is hostile), all others come rushing to me to his aid. Arven Nalyn bug

If you kill Arven Nalyn and then attempt to dispose of his corpse before killing anyone else in the cell, the game crashes to desktop. I encountered this bug tonight, but it was previously reported by a Morrowind Patch Project forum user, (G-yen), on 17 May 2011.
