Charm spell is bugged for me. The effect is permanent and the disposition is increased by twice the magnitude. I use a custom spell, 5 pts for 1 second, and NPC's disposition increases by 10 pts permanently.

Way better to use Fortify Personality[edit]

You have to double the magnitude to get an equivalent disposition modifier. Even then it's over twice as efficient as Charm magicka-wise. It also influences other skills and affects everyone you talk to while you're under the effect. You can also get it from built-in potions, or just inexpensively make them yourself. The only drawbacks are that it requires skill in Restoration or Alchemy instead of Illusion. There's also that bug that can result in disposition worse than where you started when it wears off but that's fixed by MCP. 1.123.132.254 13:45, 20 October 2013 (GMT)

Effect on Creatures?[edit]

Question: I know that Creatures can't be Persuaded like NPCs, but is it possible to use a Charm spell to raise their Disposition anyway, like you can in Oblivion? Or does the Charm spell only work on NPCs? Bauglir100 (talk) 21:25, 6 March 2015 (GMT)

Answer: There is no such thing as disposition for non-NPCs, so casting a charm spell on any creature cannot have any effect. You may want to look at Calm instead. -- SarthesArai Talk 17:51, 15 March 2015 (GMT)
I've used it, even with the Soultrap glitch brought into effect, and they do stay friendly...for a while. But hostile creatures always seem to go back to being hostile if left alone in another cell for three days straight. And yes, I've done this on non-respawning creatures like Staada and the animals that spawn to interrupt your sleep. The same also applies to creatures affected by Command spells. Is there a reason for this, like the stats of Creatures and NPCs resetting with cells, regardless of whether or not they're unique? Or because their Fight level is very high? I ask this because the Glitches page said the Soultrap glitch, when combined with Calm Creature, can be used to permanently tame creatures, but that doesn't seem to happen to me, whether on the Vanilla or GOTY version of the game.
