Witsplinter is an ornate, Elven-style dagger that, true to its name, is enchanted to seal the minds of the spellcasters it strikes, leaving them vulnerable targets for skilled fighters.[1]

History[edit]

Witsplinter's origins are unknown, but it has been in existence since at least 2E 582.[2]

Circa 3E 433, Witsplinter was in the possession of Faustina Cartia, leader of the Sirens in Anvil. An all-female crime ring, they used their feminine charm to seduce the innocent men of Anvil—married men in particular—and make off with all their valuables after stripping them of their armor and clothing. Too embarrassed to admit they were made fools of, the male victims were reluctant to speak about the incidents, leaving the situation difficult to resolve. The Anvil guard launched an investigation and sent the Hero of Kvatch as a private operative to make contact with the gang. The Hero discovered the gang's remote base of operations at Gweden Farm, resulting in the deaths of the seductresses. Faustina wielded Witsplinter during the fight, and the Hero subsequently looted it from her corpse.[3]

Circa 4E 180, the Warrior came into possession of Witsplinter.[4]
