Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Curses and Orcs[edit]
Speak to the quest giver, who says:
- "(Player's name), we have a very dangerous mission for you. The temple has come into the possession of an evil, magical weapon long sought by the orcs. The temple has already been attacked twice by the creatures. It needs to be taken to a safehaven. Will you to this for us? The temple will pay (random gold) gold."
Accept[edit]
The quest giver goes on:
- "Take this (weapon). In (dungeon), you will find (cleric's name), a servant of this temple for many years. (He/She) will safeguard the item and keep it out of the hands of the orcs. We have bound it in spells to protect you from its evil effects. However, these spells will wear off in (time limit) days.
Decline[edit]
The quest giver answers:
- "I am saddened that your loyalty to the temple is so low. But in light of the danger, I forgive you."
Manshrieker[edit]
Overall, the quest is yet another standard dungeon crawl. Head to the dungeon mentioned by the quest giver, enter it, and find the cleric within. Speak to the cleric to deliver the weapon and receive your reward.
Until you have delivered the weapon to the cleric, you will be pursued by legions of orcs intent on taking the weapon from your corpse. When hit, the orcs sometimes shout:
- "You must be the bearer of Manshrieker, the holy orc weapon of war. Kill the human! We must have that (weapon)."
If you fail to deliver the weapon in time, it will vanish from your inventory and you will become infected by Stomach Rot.
Reward[edit]
When you deliver the weapon, the cleric says:
- "Ah, this is the evil (weapon) that (quest giver's name) spoke of. I shall keep it here, where there are many defenses to keep it safe. (Quest giver's name) said that I should pay you (random gold) gold pieces for safe delivery."
If the time limit expires before you can deliver the weapon, a notification appears:
- "The evil (weapon), sparks and disintegrates. You suddenly feel very sick."
