A warning on escaping Dagoth-Ur: As a non spell caster, a Knight, I used a mark of Passwall in order to circumnavigate four of the five locked doors on level two. Descending to the third level, I grabbed the final staff piece, solved the riddle and nobly danced back over the lava and climbed back to level two, only to find the walls I had destroyed with Passwall had been reconstructed! Fortunately I had enough charges in my magical item to cut through the walls again, but bear in mind that you need at least four charges in a Passwall magical item to get in and out of level 2 (each charge lets you destroy up to 3 walls and you have to destroy eight in total. Because you will essentially waste two uses of Passwall each way, you need four charge ). Obviously, it could be possible to become stuck here (or at least need to play the whole dungeon again from a back up save, so be wary.
