DAGON ALTADOON CHIM GHARTOK - Daedric Secret Message?[edit]

I recently found a Daedric language translator mostly for fun, and to possibly to learn a bit more about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I noticed in the Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes on the first page in all four books under where it says "Book (number) by Mankar Camoran" there is daedric text. I was able to decrypt the text, and each book has one word. The sequence of words says: DAGON ALTADOON CHIM GHARTOK. Other than the reference to Mehrunes Dagon, the words are just gibberish to me. I decided to look them up here on the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages, and it directly translates to: Dagon Weapon Shine (or starlight/heavens) Hand(s). This, also made no sense so I just let my mind wander and began to think of what it could mean. My first thought was maybe it was a hint that gives away the final quest in the main storyline, where Mehrunes Dagon invades the Imperial City, wielding enormous weapons. Maybe because of his height where the heavens might come into play. Then, I thought maybe it was a hint to the Mehrunes Razor release, being that it IS Mehrunes Razor, a weapon, with a chance to kill on strike (daedric banishing), and it is a hand-held weapon. If anyone has answers, or would like to just give there opinion on what else this could mean, please feel free. --JustMICK22 17:45, 31 March 2008 (EDT)

I think you're mistranslating that slightly. "Chim" is more to do with royalty than starlight (see here) so I'd translate it as "The Weapon of Dagon's Royal Hand" or something like that. –RpehTCE 02:09, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
Oh, my bad, I guess I misread it. So, directly off of the wiki: CHIM - Royalty, Starlight, High Splendor. Still, what does this mean in reference to the game? Does it even have anything to do with the game?
