Summary[edit]

The purpose of this template is to present links to external sites in a consistent fashion. It is based on the template of the same name from Wikipedia, but is greatly simplified and does not support as many options.

Parameters[edit]

Daric Gaersmith/Sandbox
Parameter Scope Description
url Required The full link to the article.
title Optional The name of the article being linked to. This should be supplied if at all possible.
author Optional The name of the author. This should be supplied if at all possible.
publisher Optional Name of the organization or website that created the article.
date Optional Date on which the article was written.
accessdate Required Date on which the article was last checked and determined to be correct. This value should be checked every few months to ensure external links are kept up to date.
style Optional If present, applies a Style Guide to the reference. Currently only APA and MLA are implemented.

Style Guides[edit]

We now have the option to apply a Style Guide to the references, using the optional |style= parameter. Currently only the APA and MLA styles are implemented, but more can be readily added if required. If the |style= parameter is not specified, or is specified incorrectly, the default referencing style used on the UESP wiki will be applied. One important thing to note when using Style Guides is that they will automatically add punctuation consistently, so avoid manually adding any punctuation in other parameters where possible.
