Bug - Meet Nonexistent NPCs, 5% Remaining Enemies[edit]

Does anybody know how to get around the bug on this mission when there is nobody to meet, but it says yo met them??? then you can fight loads of the enemy on your own but it stays at '5% remaining' just when you thought you killed the last of them... nobody else appears so the mission & the storyline are now stuck — Unsigned comment by 84.13.101.189 (talk) at 21:32 on 6 January 2012 (GMT)

Reload and go to the meeting place. Wait 24 hours, or until your backup arrives. The enemies in the fort respawn as the battle continues, but if no more appear after you reach 5% then the quest is stuck. --Legoless 20:43, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
you can use the <killall> command in the console it worked for me. obviously only for pc. — Unsigned comment by 90.244.28.169 (talk) at 08:07 on 14 June 2013

Bugs - moved from article[edit]

BUGS - Had a lot of trouble with this one. From what I can see, a lot of people are having problems with this quest line too.

The bugs I've experienced were with Battle for Fort Snowhawk:

1) Not being able to report in to Galmar. 2) No men attacking the fort. Sometimes the objective becomes complete when you approach the arrow, sometimes not. If the arrow is in the right place (i.e. where the men should be) the objective seems to complete more often than not; if the arrow is in the wrong place, no objective complete)

Here's how I fixed it (PS3).

1) Before you turn in Compelling Tribute/A False Front, visit the Fort and clear it of bandits (with me it was imperials) and horses. I did all the interiors too, just to be sure. 2) Get a follower and leave him/her where the quest marker should go - where the men show up. 3) Turn in the preceeding quest and report in to Galmar. If the option doesn't appear, just de-activate 'Liberate Skyrim' mission, then talk to him again, it should now say 'reporting in' 4) Fast travel to the fort directly. When you get there, both sides of the battle should have spawned. 5) Complete the quest.

this did work for me, i found it on web with 1 reply saying it worked, tried it & worked too.. with Fort Sungrad mission you have to walk everywhere instead of fast travel... Hope it helps :)

I moved this from the main article because its a talk page post. (Eddie The Head 07:49, 7 January 2012 (UTC))
I followed these instructions to the letter on the PC and it did NOT work. The quest marker never appeared, nor did the friendly or enemy soldiers. My follower stood there and all the bodies disappeared. But it did not fix the bug. 66.169.241.204 02:10, 11 March 2014 (GMT)

Quest Reward?[edit]

Anybody know what the quest reward is for this? I know Ulfric grants you a new title and the Windhelm house, but didn't see anything else get added to inventory when he said he was giving something. — Unsigned comment by 166.137.14.58 (talk) at 17:05 on 15 February 2012

He gave me a Scaled Horn Armor, and a full set of Stormcloak Officer Equipment (Armor, Boots, Bracers, Helmet) - I suspect some of this might depend on how many of the subquests for Liberation of Skyrim you have completed. Krag 21:08, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Bug - No Soldiers in the Fort[edit]

If you find out that there are no soldiers in the fort you will be stuck on this quest and unable to move forward. If this happens, go the Jarl of Morthal, Idgrod Ravencrone and attack her till she goes down on one knee. This can sometimes make the quest complete itself and make it so you are able to move on in the quest line. No guards attacked me when I attacked Idgrod. This successfully completed the quest although only the first task is shown, it is not checked. This worked for me on Xbox 360, supposed to work on PS3 as well.
