There are ten playable races in Skyrim - The Adventure Game, each of which has three unique abilities. Six are available in the Core Game, and another four are included with the Dawnguard Expansion. At the beginning of the game, players can select their character cards, or distribute them randomly.

Each race's first ability can be used in combat and is available from the beginning of the game. Using it doesn't count as a combat action. The second two abilities depend on specific Skills to be active. For example, the Bosmer character has a special ability related to Archery, so that ability won't be active until the character learns that Skill. The character card also gives the players the Rest action for use in combat, which restores 2 Stamina and 2 Magicka but leaves the player exposed to enemy attacks.

^The Altmer's Illusion ability is optional. You do not have to reroll the enemy die if you do not want to.
^^The Breton's Conjuration ability applies to the use of a Conjuration spell. It does not give you a free summon.
The Dunmer's Flame Cloak ability does not deal damage to the caster.
††The Imperial's Restoration ability only triggers on Restoration Spells, not any source of healing.
The Khajiit's Pickpocketing ability triggers at the beginning of an Encounter, once per Encounter. This means that you could fight one enemy or several that meet the criteria set out in the ability, but you would still receive the same amount of Gold. The ability works any time you would fight enemies that meet the criteria - this could be in a Dungeon or as part of a Quest.
‡‡The Nord's Battle Cry ability means that you stop the enemy from attacking you, it does not grant you a second action in addition to your regular action.

Notes[edit]

  • Skyrim The Adventure Game refers to Elven races as Mer, unlike most games which use their Elf equivalent.
