Journal Entries[edit]

Tear Yourself Together (ODDHQ11ThoralfQuest)
Stage Finishes Quest Journal Entry
15 Thoralf was asked to adopt a boy named Dreng, the secret child of a monk, as a squire. On the way here, he and his father were attacked in the sewers by a necromancer. The monk - his name is Kalugar - escaped, but Dreng is gone. His father asked Thoralf in desperation for help. He now stands in the reception hall. Kalugar will tell me exactly what he saw.
20 Kalugar said that they were attacked by skeletons and zombies. I refused to help him. To be honest, there is not much hope left for the boy, and I'm not going to put the lives of my knights in jeopardy. (If you turn down the quest.)

or

Kalugar said that they were attacked by skeletons and zombies. Of course, I agreed to help the poor guy and find his son Dreng. Finally, there is a glimmer of hope. (If you decide to help.)
25 Thoralf has persuaded me. Together we will find Dreng. So we journeyed to the sewer in the Elven Gardens. Kalugar left the sewers there, so we have to start looking there. (If you declined to help.)

or

With Thoralf in tow, I set out for the Elven Gardens to the sewers. Kalugar left the sewers there, so we have to start looking there. (If you decided to help.)
35 Thoralf is reluctant, but he will follow me into the sewer system.
60 The necromancer is dead! This scum should be allowed no opportunity to reproduce. Who knows where they would have held their dark practices, if I hadn't run them down? With the spell she spoke to me, it will now be possible for me to make advances on Tiedemis, the alleged mastermind. I just hope that Dreng is still alive. But now that the necromancer is out of play, Thoralf seems to be full of energy again. (If you kill the necromancer.)

or

I have let the necromancer go. She spoke a spell to me, allowing me to advance on Tiedemis, the alleged mastermind. I just hope that Dreng is still alive. Now that the necromancer is out of play, Thoralf seems to be full of energy again.(If you let the necromancer live.)
95 Thoralf killed Dreng. As a vampire, he deserved to die, no matter who he was in life. (If you decide he must die.)

or

(Blank entry if you let him live.)
100 (Blank entry if you kill Dreng.)

or

Dreng is saved. Thoralf and I left the priest's laboratory, this hotbed of evil, without comment. His own madness shall eat him. (If you let him live.)
105 Tiedemis is stewing in the dungeon. Justice has been done. I should now take care of Thoralf. He'll take Dreng's loss hard. (If you killed Dreng and let the priest live.)

or
That idiot! Simply ran off. Directly into his undoing. We haven't lost a great thinker with him anyway.
or
That cursed Tiedemis! When I wanted to take action and make him a head shorter, he just fled. Typical priest.
or

(Blank entry if Dreng lives.)
110 Finishes quest☑
  • The following empty quest stages were omitted from the table: 5, 10, 30, 40, 50, 55, 56, 57, 58, 70, 80, 85, 90.
Notes
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On PC It is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage ODDHQ11ThoralfQuest stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
