There are mods to make the Sixth House joinable. Not sure if they're any good, though.

I've heard that both are pretty good, though I've heard more good things about GHD. Apparently it takes a more morally gray stance, to the point where, as I understand it, you wouldn't seem so much a villain. Sixth House, on the other hand, is supposed to be much more evil, and really only appropriate for truly evil characters. This is, of course, only what I've heard as I've never gotten around to playing either myself.

The "morally gray" style sounds interesting. It might be a unique experience to roleplay a House Dagoth member who does his best to "fit in" in normal society, while keeping his less orthodox activities secret. Though some people might prefer the more evil approach, I find it hard (as in, it gets boring quickly) to play a pure evil or pure good character.

Recenlty new player to Morrowind, havne't experienced all the factions yet but I love House Telvanni. Suits my power hungry Dunmer mage to a tee. None of this no killing crap, if some annoys you, kill them. It's a nice change from nearly every other guild in which you cannot kill anyone.

I actually don't have a strong preference here. But I voted for House Redoran mostly because I like their quest-line the best. Overall I think Redoran has a few more impressive NPCs. The Sarethi family, the mad lord of milk, or the widow councillor. I mean the very odd and eccentric Telvanni lords or certainly leave me with a strong impression as well, but I feel I care more about the Redoran people when playing through their quests. But then again I really like Hlaalu because of Balmora and their architecture style and Ilmeni Dren (who is my favorite NPC of the game).

Regarding other factions I guess I like Temple slightly better just because it's called "temple", but other than that I like them equally and only decide which ones I will join based on my character.

I definitely prefer House Telvanni, mostly because of their eccentric style, architecture, extreme separatism. Some of their councilors seem to be hardcore weirdos, but they are extremely POWERFUL weirdos, so this House displays strong inclination for individualism instead of being mighty as a whole, like other Houses/factions.
After all Dunmer are unique race, damned by Azura because of the blasphemy of Almsivi (the Three),who gained divine power just likeDagoth Ur did, by using the heart of Lorkhan. This extreme, deep complexity of Dunmer culture and religion make them special and I really love them, since i played Morrowind for the first time I always create Dunmer characters in Oblivion and Skyrim So why Telvanni? Coz being dark means being dark, and not being a bunch of tradesmen like Hlaalu or hack and slash guys with moral spine like Redoran. Telvanni represent the true nature of Dunmer nation, just like theAshlanders do. Their separatism is only outcome.

I like the description hardcore weirdos. That has become my new favourite description of House Telvanni.

I like the house Redoran, since they are the only dunmer house that can be qualified as "good guys" (more or less). The Telvanni have no morality, and the Hlaalu have too close ties to the mafia (Camonna Tong) for my tastes.

Telvanni's the best for roleplaying a wizard. One of the biggest reasons I prefer Morrowind to later games is how lame the Mage's guild quests tend to be.

Although, killing Mannimarco in Oblivion was cool, if underwhelming.

Love the Telvanni buildings and council house!

The Temple is a close second though, loved doing the Pilgrimages of the Seven Graces (even if it did take me so long to figure out the Puzzle Canal)

I know I'm late to the party but......House Telvani is definitely the coolest of the houses but I am about to start a Hlallu for the first time in many years so we'll see how it goes. Mages Guild is ok but nothing too special. EEC is awesome because you build it up from the ground personally. Wish the Buoyant Armigers were joinable.

House Telvanni is pretty awesome, but their xenophobia and open hostilities with the Mages Guild does mean cutting ties with a lot of factions to join them.

House Hlaalu, on the other hand, is my favorite, simply because I like their Imperial style better. I also enjoy joining the Mages Guild, Imperial Cult, and Imperial Legion in most of my Hlaalu savegames. It's just too bad there's no epic quest mods for House Hlaalu like what House Telvanni has (Rise of House Telvanni, Uvirith's Legacy, Building Up Uvirith's Legacy, etc...).
