The competition is ON!

That's very niche-specific, though; not everyone on the forum roleplays. While we can't appeal to everyone, your competition ideas should appeal to the most amount of people on the forum as possible!

I still like the cake idea but it could be hard to judge the taste.

Avron is having a hard time removing her motherly eyes from the forums... Don't mind her.

I thought the cake idea was more of a "how does it look" competition. And it wouldn't have to be just cake!

That competition has actually already started in the Roleplay Sub-forum . It is being run by Deandra. Anyone is welcome to join if they would like to.

So, about that writing competition I mentioned.

Should I do it, next month? As in, in August.

You guys still in the mood for a CotM in September?

Or should we try something different...like a trivia game or scavenger hunt? Give me ideas that you'd participate in!

I prefer the idea of a scavenger hunt or trivia game (although these exist) as they are more inclusive and don't favour the more artsy fartsy members of the forum. Norroen Dyrd did an awesome rebus a while back in the Skyrim Trivia thread.

If we have a scavenger hunt, might it be possible to allow randomly selected teams as well as individuals to enter.

I had an idea where we could have 'users of the month' or something along that kind of thing.

Examples could be something like 'Best New User', 'Best Veteran', 'S'wittiest', 'Most Dedicated' or something.
The word 'best' being used for the 'most contributing' member of each group, I mean.

Wouldn't that just turn in to a popularity contest, guarantee that someone's feathers will get ruffled.

That considered, it could be the decisions of the moderators, not voters.

Not a terrible idea, Unionhack! Just not something we're into doing, for reasons mentioned above.

What about trivia games or contests in chat, or a party in the General Discussion subforum? That might be different and fun?

A party in the chatroom instead of the general discussion thread might be easier to handle, hm?

Yeah, chat is not something Stormborn wants to experience. Aren't games band from the General Discussion subforum? Teams could be fun but they need to be randomly generated otherwise your just going to see group A, clique B, team C etc.

Most users ever online was 211 on Wed May 06, 2009 11:06 am. Whatever we do we should set breaking this record as our goal.

Can't speak for Gideon, but personally - Never been on the chat, never wanted to. It is just one of the area's of UESP that has no appeal to me like the RPs. World would be dull if we all liked the same thing.

I'm still suprised we don't have a proper General Knowledge/Trivia type thread in the GD, the Skyrim one is one of my favourit places to go even if I don't always publically answer the questions as I suck at setting ridldles etc.
