So is it possible to have observers? I'm curious to see exactly how this system works. Most "online pnp" games are loose, disorganized, and utter crap, which is why they tend to fall apart pretty quickly. But this, I dunno, the preview screens from the website look like Herr Riley may have hit on something.

Like I said, I'm not looking to join the campaign, and hell if I'm going to fork over twenty bucks to DM a closed beta, but I'd like to lurk in on a session or two, see whether the hype is justified.

Sorry, you have to be a player. And the DM already set the limit, but you might get put on a waiting list.

If you get in front of me on the list, though, I will do terrible things.

I'm not lying. I'd totally take your place, if Kestral let me. Not to be mean or anything, but because it'd make for a great story once you showed up.

Let me know who your character is, so I can roll up a bitter rival to act as your foil, constantly one-upping you for some reason.

I don't have a sheet, he only gave usable sheets to those who were in the RP.

Which means I'll probably end up with someone elses character when this starts.

Well, that's no fun.

How exactly does this sheet nonsense work, anyway? Can you just scribble out whatever character you like? Fill-in-the-blanks style, like, well I'd like a charcter with an 18 INT, 16 WIS, 18 CHA, 18/00 STR etc? Or does it have to be generated ingame, using Roll20 dice rolls and crap?

And for that matter, what sort of character generation rules are being used? Is it the classic three dice and you're out? Best-of-four? Best-of-five? Point allocation? Roll then distribute? Roll then allocate extra points? Also, is it STRICT 2e rules, because if I can't be a half-gnoll Paladin for an evil-aligned deity, there's no point in playing.

Also also, this Roll20 thing, is it built SPECIFICALLY for d20 games? Or can it be used for other tabletop'able systems, like GURPS, World of Darkness, or Castle Falkenstein? Maybe even miniatures systems, like Warhammer? Also also also, I notice from the screenshots that the maps are squarish. Is it possible to play with hexes, so we could run, say, a MechWarrior campaign?

Doros, the character making rolls are 4d6-1.

So roll 4 dice, then take away the lowest. It makes for relatively high ability scores, but I would hope we don't get any super-powered characters. If we do, I have every confindence in K-to-tha-stroll to balance things out.

I was pestered for my character sheet, but I'll get it to you as soon as possible, Kessie. I'm a little rusty so I got to do some homework here.

Well, if you're a fighter, and you get 18 for strength, then you also make the 1-100 roll aswell, to find your total.

Also, I was wondering if it would be possible for those who have already made, or even just have an idea for their character, to post it here? I'm considering making a Fighter, but if we already have a couple I'll go for something else.

Oh, OK. So anything greater than 18 gets nerfed back down to 18, and then it's just vanilla d100.

You guys should really switch to 3e. The ability scores made a helluva lot more sense.

Oh, oh, best of four. When he said 4d6-1, I thought that meant 4d6 -1; e.g. sum of the four dice minus one. Which would be absurd, because 2e was stupidly strict about kiboshing attribute levels above 18, especially for player character races, and going with 4d6-1 could result in scores of up to 23. And the whole d100 rule is stupid anyway, best just to forget about it entirely and use 3e rules for Strength.

My character ended up with 14 15 15 15 16 16, I think. Well-roundedness is good for a bard.

Well, it doesn't look like anyone will drop out.

My last hope is if Krestal does a Roll Call, and boots those who don't show up.

@Doros, sorry dude, I didn't quite know how to explain it easily. Glad K-Dawg cleared it up.

Ok, so a fighter or two, and a bard so far? Depending on my stats then I may go for a mage of some kind. Probably Multi-Classed.
