Have to admit to being very tempted by this, not played D&D for almost 25 years (although my RPG group moved onto a modded version of D&D after our first experience when out uber powerful wizard killed us all by accident) so I may be a bit rusty. I'd sign up but not sure how well my schedule would fit due to time difference.

I'd like to join, but I just got involved in DMing a new group with some of my friends. I don't know if I'll have the time, since most of the time when this is going on we'll probably be playing.

Also, I'll just be using the text chat, BTW.

Well, that means one of us won't get to play, unless he decides to bump up the player count to 9.

Which he should, as it doesn't look like anyone else will join.

Then why not increase the player count to 10?

Becuse it gets veyr hard to manage and quest become to easy what with 10 guys pounding on the bad guy.

Split the group. And have two DMs, one for each group.

We cant do that, we only have one DM, unless someone else has another 25.

Wait, you have to pay 25 bucks per DM?

Yes, as I understand it they had to pay 25$ to get this, as to if thats the nomral price or only for beta I dont know. what I do know is only the Dm "has" it, and he invites us, none of us can be dm unless we have his acount or how ever they decide the Dm signs in. so in roder to we would need another 25$ to get another dm acount so we can have two.

Currently, Roll20 has no public access. Starting May 1st, donors of more than $25 dollars will receive an invite code to a closed beta, who can then start games and invite non-donor players to the game. This ends and enters a public beta/release in the late summer.

I'll be deciding the final group in an hour or two.

A few things, too: Having two groups is not necessarily the greatest thing. This is for one group, but since the players have no experience with each other, both groups might as well do their own things. (I won't be DMing two groups, I'll say that much) A party with more than 8 players can get very unruly, while a party with less than 5 players can feel a bit strapped. Once the people are decided, no one will be added unless if the party size dips too low. 8 Players in a party is about the largest size you can make without over-complicating things, but I feel that we'll see some players participating intermittently or dropping out of the gate, so by July, I believe there will be about 6 players in the group.

Anyways, I'll be circulating a PM around with the links and stuff needed when I get the people onto the list. Consider from now to about, 4 Pacific Time the last time time to get your name in the rollings for a chance to play.

I am seriously hoping that I can get in. This might be really fun.

If there weren't rules against swearing here, I'd probably have done that enough that would make your entire family faint. At the same time.

See, this is also why I never enter contests, as well.

Either the morons of the world design a stupid upload site that causes my file I uploaded for said contest to not show up at all, or the moron judges give me a completely stupid and vauge reason for my entry not getting to be part of it. (Looking at you, House contest.)

Even then, if I had won, I either would end up not being able to join and missing out on this, or my bloody character would roll a 1 and chop his own bloody head off, like a complete moron.

I hate contests, or anything that puts randomness into use. Because every time I get involved, Life decides that it wants to make me angry enough to go on a stupid bloody rant like this, which, if I'm right, is probably going to result in the admins giving me a day ban so that I can "relax and calm down".
