It can be a bit of an odd system, particularly with most games forgoing the Chance to Hit approach. It should grow on you though, I know it's grown on me and I started playing TES Games with Oblivion.

One thing to add, if you go "liberate" a house from somone use their containers (but your items will be now marked as stolen) not the boddies, I lost a full set of glass armor and about 40k of other items from a vault hiest, bodies are only good for mutilating not storage

Indeed. There are perma-corpses iirc, Ralen Hlaalo being the most memorable for me, but in a game where stolen tags are kinda messed up, I tend to not bother whether my items are marked with an owned tag for an NPC, you just have to avoid getting caught!

This is just something I just did with my new character, nothing really amazing:
When you choose Conjuration as one of your Major skills, then adding Short Blade to your Major or Minor skills would be a great boon. Having Conjuration as a Major skill gives you the Bound Dagger spell which summons a Daedric Dagger that is stronger than it's normal counterpart(although they have same appearance) that also fortify your Short Blade skill. This combination really helps you at early stages of the game when you can't find a decent weapon to equip yourself with.

That is true, I believe the same principle could be applied to any Bound Weapon, so not only does this work with Short Blade, but any Weapon skill with the corresponding Bound Weapon spell! 8)

On another note, I aim to post a lengthy 'Faction Comparison' soon, it's nearly finished, it's just I haven't had the time lately.

How about something on alchemy? Something that describes the various Apparatus, and the (albeit complex) presented by DextroWombat?

I'll look into it, but I've got a fair bit planned so it may not be for a while. I'm more than happy to include other people's work though, so if you want to write something I'll add it to the OP along with the other info submitted here, when I get the chance.

I'm gonna give Morrorwind another try tonight (the last times I haven't had enough patience to give it an honest try). But exactly how important is efficient leveling in Morrorwind? I know how it works and all, I'd just want to explore and do quests without it getting in the way of leveling. Thanks!

I have a slight problem, and I didn't want to start a new thread for it (it seemed unnecessary). My strength is reduced somehow (marked in red) but It's not because of a disease, does anyone have any idea what has happened?

I did get attacked by a bonewalker! But I visited a shrine that cured the drained personality from that disease. I'm going to buy a restore strength potion instead. Thanks!

Just a tip:
The Restoration school can save you a lot of hassle later in the game. The further you get(levels and all that) the more chance there is of contracting both Common and Blight diseases.
Not only that but Bonewalkers are a pain in the arse when they drain your stats, there is nothing more annoying then getting your strength permanently stuck at 0 while your in the middle of nowhere inside a tomb.

You don't even need to get the Restoration magic school that high, the 50 mark should be enough to create some mediocre stat restoring spells.

That's true, and just in case, if you run out of magicka, have a Mark/Recall or Intervention scroll or potion with you.

Yeah, intervention has saved my arse countless times...
At a certain point in the MQ, you become immune to disease. So... There's an incentive!

On the topic of Intervention, Amulets, like are invaluable.

It makes it worth your while to check out the Mages Guild, even if only for the first few quests and not for the long haul.

A couple of free potions (every.. how many hours? I forget) is a good bonus. Supply chest is nice. But only when you're low-level.

Looking to get the game again. I've got fond memories of Morrowind from the beginning of my serious gaming days. Should I get it on Xbox and add another full series to my hard copy collections? Or should I download it on PC with less glitches, more mods, etc.?

Just want to know the consensus

Generally speaking, I'd say the PC is the better choice of the two for a game like Morrowind. It barely runs properly on Xbox360, and the no-mods is just a bit annoying, especially since you can make the graphics of the game Improved a great deal... then there is the whole Unofficial patches and the Morrowind Code Patch which make the game more stable, less buggy, and a lot more fun.

Sneaking and Casting are something I have a gripe about because they are not very... fluid. But with the Code patch you can cast spells with a weapon out(does the animations with weapon in hand, it's brilliant) and you also don't have to hold down the sneak button which made it very difficult to maneuver properly in vanilla.

I have to agree with Dean, the obvious pro of the PC is the modability of the game, and the huge modding community Morrowind has developed over the past decade. These mods have really helped thge game age well, and add a whole lot of new content. If you do get the PC version, you might want to and . You might also like to keep an eye on this, .

If you are happy to go out and get both, then by all means, but if comes down to choosing one, unless you're a really hardcore console gamer, the number of benefits that the PC provides for Morrowind really do tip the scales in favour of the PC, IMO.
