Ever played Medieval II Total War?
It's installed on my computer since the release and I started a new Campaign yesterday.

I just switch between Oblivion and Medieval II Total War. Yesterday I played Medieval II, today I'm going to do Oblivion.

It's true that many knights used maces and warhammers, but what about Lancers (Heavy Cavalry)? And what is better then some good Light Cavalry with spears and swords to hunt down fleeing enemies?
And infantry with spears are also very good, especially against cavalry.

In Medieval II Total War, the Turks have a cavalry unit that first fights with a lance and second with a morningstar.

Nerveshatter is indeed a nice weapon but it is two-handed :(
And Umbra is not overrated in vanilla Oblivion because there it is one of the best weapons in the game.
Because of that, Bethesda made the Madness stuff and Crusader Relics a bit stronger then, for example. Daedric armor/weapons.

And Umbra is perfect for Soul-Trapping, that 120sec. enchantment is really cool.
The Sword of the Crusader looks good and has 25 damage, quite much right?

So overall I share your opinion ;)

Well you can use the Construction Set to create a copy of Wabbajack. Call it spear, make it a weapon (if that is possible) and let it do damage, just like a sword, and also with a high reach.

From Blunt weapons, I do like the axes, but a warhammer just looks rubbish. You're just so slow and the animations sucks.

Ah... blunt weapons... the Defiler. Gotta love that there beaut'. Same with blade's Dagger of the Fang. Now if only there was a weapon that DAMAGED all attributes (besides arrows of withering). Oh well, I guess the Thornblade will have to do. Personally I just love those katanas that the Daedra Lords give you. Nothing better (unless they made the Ebony Blade ebony again).
