I've heard this from a number of people, that M'aiq is the grandson of the one from Oblivion and Morrowind. I think the source is gameplay, as that's how the others I have heard this from discovered it. It makes sense though, and it makes all those people who complained about M'aiq's inclusion look a little foolish :P.

He says so ingame.

It's also in the guide. Along with tons of other useful stuff.

The official info be damned! Ma'iq is still Ma'iq, who is actually one of the nine divines.
True Story.

Can anyone specify the locations he can be found at? I've been looking for him for a while.
Is there are route he takes? Like for example in Oblivion where he goes from Anvil to Leyawiin and back again.
Thanks,

Found him a lot between Whiterun and Falkreath -- basically southwest region of Skyrim.

I've run into him twice. Both were in the north western regions of Skyrim near Solitude.

I ran into Maiq on the opposite side of the river from the stones (warrior, thieve and mage) near Riverwood. There's a small cabin (appears on compass) where he was standing.

I found him on my way to Riften. He said something about the Khajiit being very different.

I have met him too, it was on my way from Whiterun to Riverwood, when going up the hill next by the river.

But he mentioned only something about snow and butterflies :?

I hope we will meet again :-)

M'aiq is Peter Pan, let's be realistic he is been around since even I don't know when, he is called the liar so if he says he had a father, thats bulls**t. Nine Divines DO NOT EXIST...I repeat DO NOT EXIST..Maybe he is a Daedric Prince sworn to waste our lives on posting questions on forums about what is he doing there. So here is the story when I first met the guy (cat).
-WTF?
-M'aiq knows too much
-Well yeah, you do bro.BUT WTF ARE YOU DOING HERE,WEREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD BY THE END OF THE 3RD ERA?
-M'aiq is done, go bother someone else!
*SPAMMING THE HELL OUT OF E*
-M'aiq is done, go bother someone else!
-I'm off to Whiterun got things to craft, bye bye sucker..! see you on the next Elder Scroll Title!
FML seriously with that cat..!

He says that PEOPLE call him a liar, and that the same people say that Alduin and Akatosh is the same.

Then he said something about not believing those people.
