The other day, my girlfriend said the strangest thing to me, she said that she was fine with me not giving her all that much attention after the 11th. I assure you, it didn't actually sound like she was preparing to cheat on me when she said it. It sounded.. Well, It just made sense, OK?!
I always knew that she was more or less completely fine with me being a videogame-nerd, but I still found this rather surprising.

What I am wondering is: Have any of you guys n' gals had a similar experiences? Someone close to you, who's not a gamer, all of a sudden accepting the fact, that Skyrim will suck every single fiber of your being away from them for quite some time and telling you that it's alright?

My brother has been made aware that if he needs me, oh well. He's gotta deal with the fact that Skyrim is out. But if he absolutely needs me, I am entitled to bring my laptop with me and play while I help him with whatever.

So that's a slight exaggeration, but he's going to the midnight release with me so he gets a chance to see me at least for a bit.

If my boyfriend even tries to contact me this weekend, he is going to be sorely surprised when I answer and say, "SKYRIM CAN'T TALK!" and hang up. He will very likely call me a bonehead and say I'm dumb, but I don't give two shakes of a lamb's tail. I already told my friends to don't bother me starting Friday - with the exception of a birthday party I have to go to.

I've actually had mixed experiences with people and my being a gamer. My brothers don't care because we're all into it - we have family Bust-a-Move competitions at Christmas, for heaven's sake. Whereas my friends are a little surprised by it, and usually respond to my enthusiasm going, "What? You're into video games?" as if I suddenly got a second head. But they know it's my thing and that we all have our own individual quirks, so once they get over it, the amount of space they give me for my little indulgences is actually very sweet.

My good friend actually keeps joking and saying how she'll visit me or have everyone call me on Friday. I will punch her in the nose, I swear.

Of course "Um, rocks for you, guy". Wait I got that wrong didn't I? No but seriously, let's have a big hand for the mods. This place is gonna be crazy in just over 24 hours and they are gonna kick ass. I hope that those of us older members that have been around a while can help, at least by just setting an example.

I envy anyone who has copious amounts of time to play Skyrim, but thanks to my job, I really never get a break. I love my job, early looks at lots of new games and electronics, free electronics but when things go bad, I work 18 hours day.

That being said a big F U to S&P and talking downgrading Sony's debt rating!

In closing I wish I had the time to disappear and friends except it.

Well, aside from everybody making me swear that I'll stay off Skyrim till after my wedding, the almost-husband and I plan to get lost in Skyrim together-separately as soon as we return from honeymoon. The house will be dirty and we'll eat nothing but greasy take-out for a week, but we'll be happy. There was talk of taking the computers along on honeymoon, but that wouldn't be right. And since I have nearly no friends, my whole family is well-aware that I'll be spending most of December in a Skyrim daze. They're mostly OK with it, luckily.

I doubt I'm going to get Skyrim for a while, and when I do I'll no doubt be having an important exam or two on the horizon. I'd put my serious life first even if I got it tomorrow anyway.

My boy insists that I get out and socialize today to compensate for tomorrow.

Luckily my girlfriend is being, well, uhh... a "female" at the moment, so she won't be forcing me to, you know... "stuff". Which might be part of her reson for accepting my addiction.

That's open for interpretations, some funnier than others.
Speak clearly least people think you've said something you didn't intend.
