If you play Morrowind on a modern PC you notice the following: You can play on all-max settings and load times are instant, even on a cheap rig.
If you want to play Morrowind for the XBox, you need discontinued hardware and the game will be running just as heavy as it did when it was new.

I can understand buying console games for the quick thrill, however, if you are a real fan who will replay a lot then it's an other matter.....

I have the same dilemma in regards to ps3 vs pc.

Here's my specs:

Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale OC'd to 3.5GHz (dual core)
Gigabyte ep45-UD3P
ATI Radeon HD4870 512mb
WD Caviar Black 640gb HDD (x2 in RAID 1)
Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Antec Earthwatts 500w PSU
SAMSUNG 2333SW Black 23" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Antec Sonata III Case

I'm thinking my video card & processor are my weak spots and will keep me from playing on max settings. Should I go w/ PS3?

I think the reason people like console that pc is because a console costs like 300 bucks, while a pc that can run skyrim costs like 600 dollars , and my current pc can't even run oblivion that well, its from 03 and cost 400 then.

Console games are never unplayable. There are always used consoles available. Hell new PS2s are still being actively sold.
